Hey there :)

My name is Ben and I'm the founder of Nik Nak Studios. After finishing uni in 2007 I decided I'd put my coding skills to the test and create a game. What started out as a tiny side project grew and grew into a massive part of my life. 7 years later I'm still working on that same project and am about to release it on Steam!

Geneshift is an online top-down shooter. You spawn, buy a gun, hop in a vehicle and speed on over to the enemy's base, blasting bad guys all the way. Depending on the game mode you might capture a flag, cooperatively slaughter some zombies, or simply rack up some kills in a free for all. If you're feeling competitive you can play in ranked servers and if you're feeling creative you can make a map in the inbuilt map editor. Sounds pretty cool right? Well guess what. I haven't even got to the best bit yet. The hook. The twist. For you see the thing that truly makes this game terrific is.. the skills.

The skills system is what makes this game different from all the other shooters out there. It's the fact that you play as a MUTANT and not a MAN that makes this game unique. Being a mutant allows you to level up by killing enemies. This allows you to unlock from a wide variety of crazy and complex skills. Invisibility, Regeneration, Blade Fury, Bullet Time.. the list goes on. As you level up you will explore countless skill builds, combos and counters. It is this mix of modern weaponry with RPG-like skills that make the game so unique and replayable.
