Questions in UNDERTALE

I wanna start an Undertale fangame but I wanna get down the basics first. So i'm going to let you guys decide a few basic decisions.

Q1. What should the theme be?

Why is the genocide route so depressing? (i guess this is a question..?)

I need help. I cannot for the life of me figure out how to download CLICKERTALE and play it. It just keeps telling me to open it using a program, and I cant. Can someone tell me what to do?
