What do you think?

I feel this game can go very far but once they have -100-oo the AI will always lose because they will never play a card they will just take 50$ and end turn. Also the event cards are hard to figure out If they stayed on screen a bit longer so we could read them It would help a lot. I also feel money could be used a bit more in the game. Otherwise the game is great and has potential keep up the good work.

its a good strategy game, there a few bugs like when im choosing my location and if i click anywhere once more my game crashes, bigest one so far but still i see potential

I tried you latest version. It's still a no-go in WINE and Mono, but my spouse has a computer with Windows on, so I'll give it a try there once I can borrow it. :)

This concept sounds relly fun! I tried to play the game in WINE on Linux, but it didn't work sadly. But I'll give it a try in the future, maybe it will work then. Good luck with it either way!

Hello again, hope you've been good, Just thought I'd let you know that the game crashes about 4-5 turns in every time now. It used to do it occasionally but I've had no luck with it now.

Think hearthstone. Think settlers of catan. Think playing cards to build an imperium.

Welcome to Tycoon - the card game!

Do you enjoy card games like Magic: the Gathering and board games like Settlers of Catan? Would you like to play a new game in this genre which plays out on a different board everytime you play, ensuring a fresh experience each game?

In that case, Tycoon is the ideal game for you!

Draw cards, use them to place workers to gather resources, build shops to gain huge amounts of money and finally place the most impressive buildings like Temples, Libraries and Ancient Ruins to gain the most victory points and win the game.

But beware! You are not the only entrepreneur out there. Competition is fierce and will be on the lookout to exploit any mistake you make.

Currently in alpha or even pre-alpha (let's just say it is by far not finished), you can already try to play a basic version of the game. This is the first time i have ever uploaded one of my creations, so please let me know if it is at all possible to play the game, and if so what you think about it.

Current features:

  • Crappy graphics (i created most of them myself ;-)

  • Play turnbased on a random map against 3 very stupid AI opponents;

  • Place workers in industries to gain resources

  • Buy shops to sell goods in three categories;

  • Earn enough money to build the final buildings which will let you win the game!

  • Gain 5 victory points to win.

Planned features:

  • Better graphics ;-)

  • A more balanced gameplay

  • Much more different buildings which allow you to draw more cards, destroy opponent's shops, etc.

  • Action cards, to influence the gameplay

  • Random events which influence the flow of the game

  • Different victory conditions

  • Much better visual feedback

  • Much, much more...

This will never be a triple-A title, but i hope some of you might enjoy it. Please give me your feedback, thank you very much!

Are we finally getting somewhere? ;-)

Version 0.0.9 live!

After some great help from the http://gamedev.net community, i finally got my game to run in full screen modus on all resolutions. That is probably the only change in version 0.0.9, yet it is still a very relevant one.

Please enjoy!

Version 0.0.6!

Goodbye XNA, hello Monogame!

The first standalone version!

Welcome to version 0.0.3!

Version 0.0.2 online!

My first game ever

After exactly a year off development in the evenings and the weekends, i present to you the very first, very premature, very early, very conceptual version of my Tycoon game. I hope you enjoy it, please let me know what you think!
