(This is an in depth review, so it's going to be a bit long)
First off: THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR COMING TO MY STREAM AND SHOWING ME WHAT YOU HAVE!! I'm always happy to support new developers for this game.
I love the title screen and the remixed music, it gives the game a very upbeat and cutesy feel to it, reminiscent of DDLC. I like how each of the girls, Yuri, Sayori, and Natsuki are all assigned to their own difficulty, Easy, Normal and Hard respectively. Â
The first song’s remixes sound really nice, the mapping is mixed up enough for it to sound like it has it’s own beat and rhythm, but at the same time very clearly be a remix of the original. Â
Yuri’s is nice and smooth, running at a slower speed and with slight alterations to the original song that help it stand out as its own thing. It runs slow and simple, as it is the easy difficulty. Sayori’s rendition runs slightly faster, with more staccato notes and more diversity in the mapping and a spunky, chipper feel to it, as is her character in DDLC. Natsuki’s version kicks the speed up a bit more, with a lot more deviations from the original song, throwing some cutesy beats and some sweet swings to the melody. Being the hard difficulty, it provides a rather decent challenge to those newer to the game.Â
For the second song, the beat boxing intro remains the same for all 3, with Yuri’s running slower and Natsuki’s going a bit faster. Yuri’s version is a smooth, cool changeup of the original, throwing some unique tempo mixups throughout the song. The mix that Sayori plays is the standard tempo with some changeups and the addition of quick same note presses to boost up the difficulty. Natsuki’s however doesn’t seem to have any differences to Sayori’s version of the song, besides having a much faster tempo.Â
The final song in the pack (as of V. 0.1.0) has some of the strongest energy out of all the tracks; all the characters have very clear differences and changes in the tempo and beat that works with their “voice” styles. The mapping, however, doesn’t really seem to have much differentiation between them for this song. Also, and this may just be a personal thing I noticed, but Natsuki’s version of this song just feels like a Nightcore version of it. That’s not necessarily a bad thing, but after each of the difficulties multiple times for this song, it was difficult to pick up what was different besides Yuri’s revision. Â
There are minor things I need to nitpick with this mod:Â
There are no hit animationsÂ
On the very first title screen, the logo bounces awkwardly (not sure if intentional)Â
You're not able to change characters (AKA difficulty) while in the middle of a song, gives an error insteadÂ
This mod is very obviously in very early access, and I would love to see how this mod develops in the future. Keep up the great work; I’m really loving what I’ve seen so far, and I can’t wait to see what else you can add to this!Â
very good mod,I want to update
