What do you think?

okay no music, no sound, I wait for 2 minutes just so I can read about bunch of pointless jibber jabber on a screen.

then the game begins and still no music or sound.

A classic, and ahead of its time. Super-ambitious, perhaps too much so. Ever thought of remaking or porting it?

There are so many games out there that I enjoy playing although I do not care about their story... with your game the opposite happens: I enjoy listening to the audio logs and I am interested in finding out what happened to the Earth, but the gameplay is far from appealing.
I gave you a 5 because Phenomenon 32 is far better (at least storywise) than 99% of the games on GameJolt.

worth it,
tottly worth it!
5/5

Good idea! :D I love these game! :)

[While this game runs perfectly on some systems, the problems it has on others have made me decide to label it UNSTABLE for the time being.]

[A quick note: on some computers, the game may run better if installed outside of Program Files. Otherwise it sometimes crashes on startup and only works the second time it's run.]

BEFORE YOU DOWNLOAD

To avoid misunderstandings, here are some things to keep in mind before choosing to download the game:

  • This game requires dedication. It is very big, and quite difficult, and parts of it may be different from what you're used to.

  • The game comes with a short and simple manual, which you have to read. It has no tutorial or in-game help. If this is a problem for you, avoid the game.

  • This game was built in Construct. Construct is a great tool, but it's still pre-1.0, and certain cases of instability (different from system to system) are still likely. They very rarely ever result in the losing of save games, but the game does sometimes crash. Until Construct improves, there's nothing to be done about this.

  • Again as a result of Construct, the game has fairly high requirements. I would recommend a 2GHz processor and 2GB RAM. Yes, it's silly for such a minimalistic game, but there you go.

  • The game runs in fullscreen mode.

  • The graphical style of this game is minimalistic, and the graphics are black and white. (In other words, it is designed to look like a Gameboy game.) This is done for reasons of atmosphere and story, but it may well not appeal to you.

  • The game features several hours' worth of music and voice acting. That means the file is big. If you're on a slow connection, and the above elements do not sound appealing to you, just look for another game. Thanks.

Phenomenon 32 is a free 2D exploration/platforming game with RPG elements.

BACKGROUND

In an alternate 1940s, scientists discover an extremely powerful and dangerous new area of physics, code-named Phenomenon 32. Years before it can be fully understood, the United States government uses it to create the ultimate weapon: the Reality Bomb, whose blast not only destroys matter, but shatters reality itself.

By the 1950s, the Great Depression has reached an unimaginable low. With the threat of revolution and pressure from the multinationals on the inside, and the aggressive policies of Stalinist Russia on the outside, the government sees only one way of revitalizing the economy: war.

Within less than a day, the Earth is gone. The Reality Bomb has done its work.

Twenty years later, a small population of humans is still alive on the moon. Previously dismissed and laughed about as a waste of money, the Moon Colony is now humanity’s last shelter from the insanity of war. But the Moon Colony was never meant to be completely self-sufficient, and now resources are finally running out.

There is only one place to get more.

In a special ship designed to withstand the dangerous environments of Earth, you are sent to explore our former planet, to gather information for research, and to find all the materials needed for the Moon Colony to survive.

But Earth is no longer the Earth we knew. Things have shifted; out from the cracks in reality, dangerous creatures have appeared. Radiation from Soviet bombs is widely spread; and in some places, reality itself is so fractured that not even your ship’s shields can protect you. Phenomenon 32 has turned the Earth into something… unknown.
