"The confused lovechild of hit 2000s games such as Initial D Arcade Stage, Wangan Midnight Maximum Tune and Tokyo Xtreme Racer"

Zokusha 96 is a modern exploration of the early 90s' Hashiriya scene that radiated through Japan, and still does to this day. The project aims to bring together those who favor high speed races with those who prefer the rough but beautiful touges of Japan. Most games nowadays focus on only one of these areas, and the other is forgotten about, but with Zokusha you can be assured both areas are being worked on side-by-side to ensure an unforgettable play through for fans of either.

Touge Mode

Set in the beautiful mountains of Japan, the Touge Mode features a number of familiar locations such as the stunning Mt. Akina. The time spent on perfecting the drift physics has been completely worth it as the thrill & rush this mode gives off is something unforgettable. As well as featuring point-2-point racing, the Touge Mode has it's very own custom career mode based in the Initial D universe, with familiar characters in a completely untold story of the new Racing King of Gunma. This mode is a must-play for the drift fans of the car community.

High Speed Mode

Taking place on the vast and exhilarating Shutoko Expressway, the High Speed Mode features key locations such as C1, Bayshore, Mirai and Yokohane. Focusing on a more Tokyo Xtreme Racer feel, the map can be fully explored and driven whilst progressing through the mode's own completely custom career mode featuring a brand new story and set of characters. Exploration of new areas on the map will grant players the opportunity to level up and see the sights whilst zooming down the gorgeous roads the expressway has to offer. For those planning to race over 200km/h, this mode is definitely for you.

Arcade Mode

In tribute to perhaps the most influential gear-head manga, Initial D, we decided to create our own slight arcade mode. Players won't need to progress in this mode, and every car in the game will be available from the get go. The map-list for this mode will be much smaller than the actual map-list, and it won't be as worked on as the rest of the game. But it'll still contain a lot of fun things to do and a slightly easier playthrough!

The Cars

Now, don't worry. We know what you're thinking. "What about the cars!?" We've got you covered. The cars on offer in-game are among the most popular of that era, as well as some much loved hidden jewels. Not every car will be Japanese either, with a few Ferraris and Porsches available to purchase with in-game credits earned through leveling up. All cars will upgradeable too! More on those subject later...
