But now that the shoutouts are out of the way, it’s about time I discuss the more serious topics. I feel like it would be best if I get the issues I’ve been having with this site out of the way already.
Just a warning: This section is going to bring up some controversial people who were part of these conflicts. If you see any names that may trigger you, I strongly advise that you skip past this part and go to the next.
Also, PLEASE DO NOT GO HARASS ANYONE MENTIONED IN THIS ARTICLE. Doing so will make you look as bad as them. Without further ado, let’s get on with it.
Drama
For starters, this site is almost always filled to the brim with drama. This varied from either ongoing commotion about another person or, in some cases, seeing people mention the exact person who’s causing trouble in the first place and giving them attention. I’m sick of it.
Now that I mentioned it, here’s a little story that happened in October of 2023. Me, @cole528 , @cs888901 , @why_is_ryan_mad , and some other friends had to deal with a ten year old that wasn't even supposed to be on this site. For privacy reasons, I will not name them. If you know, you know. This all started because @cole528 expressed his opinion towards the .EXE community (he said that he didn’t like the fandom and I can respect that). They have stalked us, recorded us without consent, pretended to act like we were friends with them, and mentioned us in their posts. At the time of writing this, everything on their account is currently deleted.
Hopefully this kid won’t plan on coming back to Gamejolt again. We don’t know if that could be true, though. To save time, I won’t fully elaborate on other events that have happened between last year and now, so I’ll list most of them here:
The DaylenTVGaming controversy, REALYT, February 4th incident (2024), ArtyMik908 (FUCK YOU ARTY), Ruslan Ishchuk (groomer), Chaotic King Web, etc.
On the other hand, people that we used to be friends with have changed for the worst. It disheartens me having to cut ties with someone because of what they’ve become or the actions they committed. Likewise for the drama, all of this has happened so frequently to the point where my mental health has gotten worse. Speaking of that, let’s move on to the next section.
Mental Health
Boy, is this gonna be a long one. What has been stopping me from posting is some IRL issues I’ve been having. That includes intellectual health, sleep, and my self esteem. Gamejolt is also semi-connected to these issues. Getting online almost every day felt like an addiction. As a result of all of the bad stuff that happened on here, it’s recurred much less now.
Now let’s talk about the issues that I think make this website much worse. Let me be clear about this. At first, I thought this website was fun. I was inspired by Luigikid and other YouTubers who played .EXE games, specifically ones from this site alone. On day one, conflicts didn't arise that often. I was just having a good time hanging out with friends and playing games for a while. Now it's just a complete mess of predator hordes and shitloads of multi-banning with some that didn't even deserve it. Additionally, the removal of firesides is a small part of what makes it less fun. Hell, most of the friends I made originated from us communicating with each other in live streams and voice chats. Due to this, nothing really feels as special as it used to anymore. Yes, I have eventually gotten over it but that doesn't change the great memories all of us had together. Right now, I am focusing on self-improvement and my mental health in general. I still talk with my own therapist whenever I need to in case anything suddenly goes wrong. Thank my mom for helping me through this as well. In a couple of years this will gradually fade out of my head at some point, I hope.
Another thing; one of the main reasons why my account hasn't been active is because of the shitty updates and transitions this website has gone through. To me, all this website cares about is money now. Companies like Gamejolt have become corporate. It seems as though this website won't get better from the looks of things.
Lack of motivation + Delay on big projects
The Super Mario 64 Anti-Piracy Project: Although this was not announced initially, I thought it’d be a great idea for a short analog horror video. This specific project was originally going to consist of models and animations made in Blender with Mario as the main character, obviously.

Game Over screen concept:
A dark room with a spotlight shining down on Mario’s hat in front of a pipe with the floor’s surface being replaced with the original Super Mario Bros’ ground texture. This is where the Game Over theme would play and the text would pop up. The words would probably say something like “Piracy is a serious crime” or whatever.

Not sure if I will continue this for not, but I’ll see what happens.
Beyond The Bounds:
For this game, the development status is pretty much nil. Planning on cancelling it if I don’t have the energy to keep working on it.
I have some other personal projects I want to work on that won’t be posted on this site. I’m still working on some of them and thinking about what I should do with them.
Conclusion
Overall, it’s been a crazy fucking two years. For those who have been nothing but awesome people since we first became friends, I give a bunch of respect to y’all. Props to you peeps.
This might be the last post I make on here. If so, then that’s it for me I guess. I’ll still be active on Discord just having fun with other friends of mine. “What about Gamejolt???” Not sure.
