First a little introduction to this project, as I know the start of the page is very vague.
This will also help clear up some misconceptions related to me talking about the game in other places before it was really ready to be talked about, as I did not have a clear idea in mind like I do now.
As such this will simply be a post to clear up some things and make people who are just finding out about this project a bit more in line with what would be in store.

So, as you may know by the description, The Third Layer is a FnaF based roguelike which takes place in its own universe outside of the normal Five Nights at Freddy's storyline. This however is not as disconnected as it may seem, the game DOES take place within a line of events that happens in the game, yet it diverges from the canon at a specific point and becomes a unique story unrelated to those events.

In specific the final resting point of William Afton, in this story he is dead and will never come back. His final tomb was the bellowing furnaces of Freddy Fazbear's Pizza place in Pizzaria Simulator, along with the other characters. Fazbear Entertainment then attempted to make a series of video games to bolster itself back into the world's mind. However, this was a short-lived struggle as an internal whistleblower made the public well aware of the validity of the supposed mythos behind the establishment.

However, there is never a shortage of wicked minds in the world and a heinous killer begins to carve his own name into people's nightmares. Once again, children have begun to disappear, and a strange ring of livestreamed murders begins to surface on the internet, all filmed within condemned locales of the once beloved family name.

However, there is always more to a story than what's on the surface. And the horrific truth of these events begins to unfold into spirals of madness and insanity as paranoia reigns and the gruesome crimes only intensify. The next phase of their plan is ready, and with this, a new evil makes its way onto the scene.

A young girl wakes up in a mysterious labyrinth, as a sadistic game begins and the monsters in the halls begin to awake from their slumbers.

Once more, I am truly sorry for any confusion I have brought about via my advertising of past ideas in the last month before I truly knew where I wanted to take this project.
