1.9.5 Current Bugs > Being worked on for 1.9.6


Hey there, Gateway Travelers!

With the release of 1.9.5, we've seen our fair share of things that need to be fixed. If you're wishing to wait for 1.9.6 for all the fixes, or if you're playing 1.9.5 and you've noticed a few of these...well...here's a list of what's being fixed in 1.9.6, as well as what's being added or tweaked that isn't a bug fix.

  • Second splash screen shows 2020, not 2021.

  • Credits scene is missing a new page.

  • The introductory scene still shows Dawn of the New Hour, not Crystal Fragments.

  • The Save/Load transitions still show the old title as well.

  • A x2 choice menu is oddly placed in the Magic Man's shop...Switch:02 conflicted with a FixToMap script's switch setting, so I've added a new switch and "switched" it to that one to fix the issue.

  • The Gateway intro does some strange things to the graphical layers.

  • Niji's Realm needs to be double-checked for bugs.

  • The student sidequest needs to be double-checked for bugs as well.

  • Locked party member icon is a weapon instead of a lock?

  • After entering the Resting Quarters, messaged width is off. That being said, this can be fixed with the Dev Key for temporary fix, but is now fixed for 1.9.6.

  • Gateway lamps in the library...you can walk on them. You ain't supposed to. Tables, too. And...part of a bookshelf.

  • The guard in Woodbury doesn't want you coming back through from the forest. Now he has to let you back through.

  • Walking into the Woodbury Forest plays an old version of the theme. Changing it to the newer version in 1.9.6.

  • Some items in the forest aren't obtained by stepping on them. Fixed that.

  • Centered the sign on the Woodbury Bridge.

  • A character that doesn't exist shows up in the dialogue after you learn the bridge is broken...whoops.

  • Not much is told about how to start fixing the bridge...just fixed that. Thanks, Victoria.

  • Triggering the "Info:BridgeIsBroken" Switch is a little too easy to miss. So we put it in a cutscene on the Bridge so it can't be missed.

  • Turns out the scene BEFORE the South Bridge...after you go to the Bridge...plays twice through two maps. Got rid of the second one.

  • There was no choice menu when first finding the cardkey near the lightrail.

  • Did I seriously START the Alder Bridge Quest...and NOT put in a bunch of Alder Wood throughout the maps? Well...I guess you guys can finish this quest now and repair the bridge.

  • You know...I think I'll add a Cheat Chest somewhere for you to find. In case you want to cheat your way through the Alder Bridge quest. But...it won't be easy to find. Hint: Item Shop.

  • For uh...some reason...there was butter. In the forest. Just. On the ground. Uh...fixed that. Replaced it with basil.

  • Changed the requirement for Alder Wood from "Equals 20" to "Greater than or equal to 20" in case the player gets more than 20.

  • Past the bridge, one of the Goldewin Twins gives you...literally...every ingredient and recipe. That's supposed to be a BUYABLE cheat. Not a FINDABLE cheat.

  • You know what? Carrasco's textbox was for the OLD Carrasco. I think the textbox needs to be updated.

  • Aaaand NPCs don't have dialogue in Carrasco...whoops again!

  • The save location is for the Tournament House. Should...should it be in the Inn instead, like in Woodbury?

  • Need to reshade the Carrasco Inn. And allow healing. Ooof.

  • Some minor tweaks need to be made here and there for the scene in the Tournament House.

  • BP-specific menu would be nice. And uh...the ability to not get max BP the moment you try to access the shop. And the shop actually being made correctly. There's honestly a lot wrong with this chicken.

  • Teleport issue in the cave! That's right, YOU CAN'T LEAVE! ...whoops.

  • Status icons in the pause menu are showing up behind the health and mana bars???

  • Seven isn't supposed to be in the Cave...I JUST remembered! (I've now implemented a "Region-Specific Party Member" feature.)

  • Blake's face shows up in Victoria's dialogue in the opening of Carrasco. Gotta fix that.

  • Lots of audio issues in the Waterfall Cave. Wrong music, birds chirping instead of dripping water, music doesn't fade out for the last cutscene...lots of stuff.


As I said, this is being updated in real-time, so keep an eye on this page from time to time if you'd like. Any part that has a "" emoji next to it means I've already fixed it and it's ready to be pushed out in 1.9.6.

UPDATE: Minus Sunday, which I had a break on, I've been working through the demo's latest update every night. Based on the progress I've made so far, I want to say 1.9.6's update will be releasing the evening of 7/4 or 7/5, either of which would be 8 o'clock-ish. I'm CONFIDENT in this scheduling.

1.9.6 is planned to be one of the last demo updates before we move into Early Access development, with 1.9.7 being the final version of the demo. I want to push 1.9.6 as quickly as possible, as one of the fixes made is crucial to the continuance of the new location (Alder Wood implementation allows you to fix the bridge on the southern edge of the Woodbury Forest). 1.9.7 will feature an update for Otnemarcas events.
