Theres quite a bit, to name a few, global tasks, 3rd person, classes and escapes.
Global tasks i feel make the game more like any asym instead of the unique client side tasks in base game, as well it can fix some issues either way downtime for some player but make it worse for others
I felt what made so much of pillar chases identity was its first person, but 3rd person i feel lessens the scary factor. As well makes survivor a bit easier to see monster before they see you
Classes are neat i suppose but i dont know, no actual criticism i can make on it, just dont think it fits.
Escapes are a cool idea, but them being available during the round and not at the end makes it so players can just.,,leave? Which i think makes monster even more stressful and makes playing less tense and scary, instead of being scared that your trapped with a monster, you can just,,leave. It feels a lot less trapped and scary.
There are plenty of things i love in recode, but its mere gameplay is not fun and too generic of an asym game to me, prime pillar chases 2 is still to this day my fav asym game
im still interested in pc2 but i wont be playing it myself as the new gameplay isnt fuun to me
