So, what can I say about the year Two-Thousand and Twenty-Four...?

Being completely honest, 2024 has been the first year that I, without a shadow of a doubt, would call "not great", this being mostly due to personal reasons that I'm not gonna talk about here and am mostly over with by now, but what I will say is that the lackluster and virtually nonexistent output in the first 8-9 months of this year did indeed have a reason other than the usual excuse.

Despite all of... whatever that was, I can say that what I have managed to achieve in this short period of time where I have been able to do things is certainly something to be proud of.

Before even getting to any of the things I did there's a tangentially related development I'd like to mention...

I'm actually active, in, like, places.

I know this is rather silly, but I've basically only been a mere lurker for the past three years (Jesus o.o) of being in this side of the interwebs, and to actually begin to unashamedly create and post art (which is also in itself another notable achievement separate from this), and more commonly talk to other people other than The One Guy has indeed been an improvement that I've achieved, and on that topic...

I'm a composer for a game? what!?

Yeah, that's what actually reaching out to people and taking opportunities when you have them will do to you, isn't that funny?

But yeah, FALSE FRIGHTS... I'm quite proud of the music I've made for the game so far, even if I have no clue where I got the ability to do any of it, still... regardless, I am quite excited for this project and I am thrilled to be part of something greater than just my own nonsense for once.

I will always be this game's number 1 sellout.

There was also the first Art Fight I've ever participated in!
(You can tell this isn't in chronological order, lol)

That was absolutely some of the most fun I've had the whole year round, and the most productive I've been too.

I have it to thank for not only motivating me to try and get more art out and into the world, but also for subtly changing my art-style for the better, goodbye ugly thick black outlines, giant canvas sizes and weird aspect ratios!

Regardless, I am absolutely going to participate next year if nothing happens, so look out for that if it's relevant to you!

...and also I'm absolutely using the character submissions as my own personal OC wiki, even if it's absolutely not gonna fit all of my little guys.

A quick honorable mention to the several concepts I've created and am yet to elaborate upon for being some of my favorite things I've made despite having niche to nonexistent appearances anywhere in my stuff.

Anyway-

PhantomENdboi is DEAD!

Yeah, this one may be just a tiny bit of a relevant topic to mention, a small issue with my prior username being kinda garbage transformed into me coming into terms with my gender, isn't that funny?

But yeah, that stupid name is officially dead, and the character attached to it is being reworked because he is too lore relevant to kill off now. (not gonna elaborate)

Despite this being a literal life-changing... change, this is all that's being mentioned about it because you get the gist lol.

As usual with these types of posts, I do have my fair share of thanks to give for certain people... so I'm gonna do that.

@Timezone-Maniac-Studios - This really doesn't need much explaining, still as cool as ever, still as much of an inspiration as ever, etc, etc... Thank you for being The One Guy that I've always talked to, even if the number of calls on average this year decreased some amount.

@Bop__ - I think it's fair to say you don't need another person yapping about you being an inspiration to them or how good your games are at this point, but that's not (entirely) the reason you're here.

@worldtrademark - Well, firstly you are the owner of the server with All The Cool People, so thank you already for that, I guess, but more importantly thank you for letting me be a part of one of your games!

The small hit of motivation that making those silly three songs have given me has been some of the most I've had in a while, and it actually made me want to do projects on the game side of things once more, after basically the whole year of not wanting to.

Though, on that... I did drop the ball on the two jams of yours I participated on, so oops. But hey! At least they are both set to return eventually, the most recent more than the other, but still.

So yeah, to end all of this, what are my plans for 2025?

If nothing changes for the worst, my plan is simple:

Get one something out, while also continuing to drop art every now and then.

The something doesn't need to be ginormous, but I'd like it to be worthwhile, be it a gamejam game, a full game, a Youtube video, a song not part of FALSE FRIGHTS's OST, whatever, just a something and I'm swag for the rest of the year. If there were multiple somethings then good, but it's not required.

There's clearly already a something already in the works as per the teaser from the christmas post, and I do hope to have something to show for it later down the line, even if it isn't its complete state, since again, "I'm on the internet only and exclusively to do whatever I feel like, [...]"

But anyway, I wish all of you a Happy New Year, and let's hope nothing terrible happens, as unlikely as that may be.
