I continued debugging.
I started programming a "smell" screen to help you find your way around and see where the other characters you've already met are.

I started programming a food dispenser screen that allows characters to gain power.

Now, when you destroy stuff on the map, the characters get stronger.

Now that everything is done, I'll make 5 demos, going further and further into the story, until I think everything is functional enough and I can finally translate the game and release a beta.
However, I will only release the first demo in english on GameJolt before the finished game, the other four will remain in French, and I'll have them tested by relatives.
