Exactly 7 years ago at the age of 11, I released the first box game. This game marked the point where I started to take game dev seriously, ironically enough... 8 months after the first game's release, I decided to make my first ever Android port, which wasn't bad for a first port, but the size of the port was horrifying, being 244 MB. The reason is mostly because I was using .wavs instead of .oggs at the time and we all know how big .wavs tend to be.
I decided to redo the Android port to celebrate 7 years of this goofy little series which has little to no reason to be still relevant to this day. This new Android port is 5x smaller than the original one, staying at a whopping 50 MB!
But wait, that's not all!
Throughout this year, I'll be releasing Android ports of all previous box games I have made (Yes, even box 3 original). This means that the infamous box 2 Android port will be ACTUALLY REAL. I do not know when the other ports will come out, but at least 2 ports will likely be released during June.
One cool thing about the box 1 port, which will carry to the upcoming ports as well, is the new Android sound engine made by the one, THE ONLY, @Rhadamus (#Rhadamus). I got #EarlyAccess...
I initially wanted to release a box game today, but it didn't turn out how I expected. (I haven't worked on it since March.) I hope I'll get to put it out this year, but eh, I don't want to throw out dates.
That's mostly what I wanted to say! Happy 7 years of One Night with a Box and relive the box 1 experience again!
