Hello everybody!
I don’t even know where to start! THANK YOU SO MUCH! couch maybe that was a bit too much… However I am really grateful to everyone on Gamejolt. To the people who played this, and also who have seen it. It’s difficult to make clear what you guys have done to me! And that’s why I will explain that in this news article
As you might know, Welcome to the Mansion was never supposed to be released in English. The game was created to be dutch but in the end I decided to add the option of english. Before welcome to the mansion I was working on another game. In that game you had the possibility to switch languages. So I thought, why not do the same in Welcome to the Mansion.
I made the game for a dutch contest, which meant it was also created for a dutch audience. I had in mind that only a few people would play this in English.
But then I came across a site called GameJolt. It looked really cool so I signed up. And then I saw that big shiny “Upload Game” button. I was thinking to myself: “Why not? My English might not be the best, but I’ll just warn them about it.” So almost 2 years ago I uploaded it, and people liked it.
I still remember how I got really excited because of 50 people playing my game! But then came youtubers like Seapeekay, Yamimash, Some Ordinary Gamers and more! They played my game, people watched it and suddenly it got a whole lot of attention! Oh man, then came a big rush of excitement and motivation! It got me so excited I started working on the sequel immediatly.
You guys gave me a real motivation boost! I liked making games at first, but now I really LOVE it! All thanks to you! It’s hard to explain without getting repetitive. It’s really weird how a community like Gamejolt’s can have such a big impact on you. But I’m really grateful for it. I wish there was a better way for me to thank you, but you’ll have to do with this for now :P

(P.S as you might know I’m working on the remake of Welcome to the Mansion. You can check it out here: Welcome to the Mansion Remastered )
