Avares, hardworking and ambitious, lifts himself up out of peasantry. He finally becomes a noble by gaining the title of a knight. However he's quickly hit with the reality that knighthood is the bottom of nobility, and on top of that, there's no chance for him to go higher. He grows frustrated with that realization and declares to himself that he must shoot for the sky.
