A Much Needed Update

Hello everyone,

I'm not gonna pretend that its been a long time (a whole month) since the last time I've said anything about FNAP. So here I am now, and let me just say one thing before we really get started, the game isn't cancelled. There, now we can actually get started.

We've been through quite a lot throughout the development of this game, and I must say I've enjoyed seeing this game become what it has, but i can see you asking yourself "God what's taking so long?" and if you haven't been asking yourself that well screw you because now I've put the idea into your head by making you read it.

Anyway, the reason that we've taken forever is simply because it's difficult for Alex, the artist, to draw the all of the art (and there's a lot of art to draw).

But, the art that has been made is amazing and honestly worth the wait, and all of it is almost done too, in fact, I dare say it is around 80% complete and when all of the art is done, the game itself is practically finished because all programming work has been completed for the main game.

To give you all an idea on what I mean by the art being worthwhile, let me give you some examples of how the game has changed during the demo:

Here's Paite in the arcade as it appeared in the demo, it is literally a PNG of the reference art Alex made put into the arcade room. Not very nice is it? Hell, all of the cameras (minus camera 8) were like this.

Now take a look at this, Paite is actually in a new pose, how cool is that? It's as if he's actually there, we've even given him new proportions!

Here's another example, being a screenshot of the demo itself, as you can see, it isn't very nice looking as it's just a poorly cropped PNG of Domi.

I know I've technically shown this one off before but not really in-game. Anyway, Domi now actually has facial expression, he's properly sized and he just looks pretty damn cool. You've also probably noticed that I moved the button to close the door to be a little lower, which was done so that they wouldn't conflict with the new sprite.

Now with the next changes, I want to go a little bit deeper because of how the room itself had started during development...

What you're seeing here is a screenshot from the V.0.1 build of FNAP a.k.a. the very first functional build that was created. The reason I'm actually showing you this is to give some context on the history of this camera, since this specific one has had quite the history.

So of course, as with every other camera that hadn't been finished/started (which was almost all of them at this point) It was just the word 'Cam 06', not very pleasant eh? Which is why I eventually decided to make a new temporary room.

tempbiggtoilet_bin_temp.png

We dubbed this 'The Piss Toilet', I wonder why you'd think that? It was actually like this for a very long time, when the trailer was made, it was still like this although we didn't show it, for obvious reasons.

As you can see here, Skyfoogle's bathroom (cam 05) also looked the same as this for quite a long time (it was the last room that was finished!).

toiletbin_active_temp.png

This was the second to last room that was finished and in the demo had a big massive ugly Bryngles crop. Fun fact: The hitbox to click on him hadn't been moved from where it was on the old toilet, so in theory if you tried to click on him when he was on here there was a chance that nothing would've happened. Not that you'd know that, Bryngles didn't move in the demo.

Anyway, this is what it looks like now, he dabs, that's it. Oh and he isn't massive anymore. The mouth on the side of the wall is a reference to something, though I'm not sure if I'm allowed to say anything about it yet so for now I won't, sorry.

That's all I would like to show for now, FNAP is so, so close to being finished now, and I couldn't be more excited. This project has been something that I've wanted to make for years, and now that it's coming to life right in front of me is amazing.

I want to give a special thanks to everyone involved in making the game, but especially Alex for making the art and bringing the characters to life with his skill, and Bryn for being the best play-tester on the planet, seriously you caught me being lazy with different parts of the game so many times, without you it wouldn't be the same.

And of course, I would like to thank you, for reading and keeping up to date with the game and if you played the demo, then that's even better. I promise, you won't have to wait too much longer until you can play the full game.

Anyway, I'm not too sure how I should end this, so I'm going to just stop typing now, Bye everyone!.
