He was created by another exe with the purpose of eating other exes but he rebelled against his creator and so his creator met the same fate as the ones he wanted to kill, pretender has the abbility to create a vessel has if it was his own skin regenerating, this vessel can be any sonic character he makes this to fool other exes into thinking he is harmless. once pretender senses someone near him he starts crying, he cannot control that but contributes to other exes thinking he is incapable of harm. he eats exes only for survival they are the only thing that maintain him alive so he doesnt really attack humans or trapped souls in any exe realm, he has a star shaped glowing hole in his stomach this holes emmits a white light that can paralyze anyone who is in the range of the flash but it is slightly vissible in his "deceiver form" so he tries to hide it as much as possible,his limbs can stretch to cath his victims
