A question to you all + current progress on Story mode


The question

Since the current state of the game is A LOT nearer to a complete release, would you like to have access to a further beta before the final release?
At the moment, the game has arcade endings for the main 16 characters (so, all except Donner, Random, and Tutorial Man), plus 7 full story chapters to play.
The story mode as it is now takes around 2 hours to complete (if you want to read the text/follow the cutscenes), while each arcade can last between 15 and 30 minutes, depending on skill, difficulty level and number-of-rounds setttings.

The progress

The seventh story chapter (The Flowers of Evil), which is the direct sequel of story chapter #1 (Faceless in the Crowd) and #6 (Through the Fire and Flames), is finally complete.

I feel pretty satisfied by the current status of things, but of course things can always be improved.

I’m working at the remaining four to five story chapters. Each story chapter lasts around 15 minutes, so the final version will have around 3-4 hours of story content (or more, depending on what I can manage to do)

After a lot of delay (for which I apologize from the bottom of my heart), the 8-Colors Star Guardians+ free DLC costumes are now available for download! This DLC package contains the two previously released DLC packs for the Steam version!

Schwarzerblitz v1.7 out now! Minor balance patch with a few extra goodies, such as version select for tournament mode. Full patch notes in the article!

Due to some issues with setting financial information on GameJolt, I am currently not able to offer the latest DLC through this platform.

"Tales from the Epilogue" is currently available on itch and Steam, but compatible with the GJ version of the game.

SCHWB v1.6 update is (slightly) delayed to middle of June, due to a couple other indie fighting games coming out at the end of May (thus avoiding a pile-up with them). Fanart submissions for the final release are still open!
