A quick tip: don't buy

an Android phone made by Verizon, especially if it's from the U.S., because they do something that's legal in the U.S.—blocking the ability to flash the device to install,

for example, a different Android version or just a Linux distribution adapted for phones but not based on Android

In my case, I didn’t buy it, so it bothers me less.

But what bothers me the most is that once this version of Android is no longer supported… it won’t be secure for life.
