A review on 007: Goldfinger (1964 - Terrence Young)


1 - Introduction

Goldfinger, the third chapter of 007 and don’t get me start it, this is clearly one of my all time favorites of James Bond from 1962-1977 where it introduces the main antagonist of my favorite film, Auric Goldfinger, a powerful tycoon & Gold Smuggler who plains on raiding Fort Knox (One of America’s largest banks) where actors are staring as Sean Connery as James Bond, Bernard Lee as M, Gert Fröbe as Auric Goldfinger, and many more

2 - Plot

“British secret agent James Bond is tasked by the Bank of England and Mi6 to investigate gold magnate Auric Goldfinger, who they suspect is building up a vast inventory of gold bars. At first, nothing seems all too special about the gold obsessed tycoon, but after Bond gains knowledge of a secret scheme involving Goldfinger which is about to be initiated; codename "Operation Grand Slam", he realizes that the fate of the entire western economy may be at stake if the bullion dealer is not stopped.” — goddangwatir (IMDb)

3- My thoughts about Auric Goldfinger

James Bond: Do you expect me to talk?
Auric Goldfinger: No, Mr. Bond, I expect you to die!

(Auric’s most famous quote and one of Cinema’s most famous quotes of all time in human history)

What I like about Auric Goldfinger is that he’s nothing like the other villains, Auric Goldfinger is a high intelligent gold smuggler (like the kind of villains who loves gold a lot) who is the head of Auric Enterprises that plans on eliminating the US gold reserve to become the world’s richest man alive and what makes Goldfinger the best villains of all towards many people is that he embodies a very unique blend of charm and ruthlessness which it makes him be a captivating, most memorable antagonists of all time in history of blockbuster

Plus, what’s funny to me on how he dies is he got sucked out of an aircraft and we never got to see him again

10/10

4 - Overall

Goldfinger is merely the best one of all and most of all, the best villains of all and therefore, Goldfinger will forever be the best 007 film of 1962-1977

10/10 + 10 points for Auric being da best of the best
