This one is sloooooooow going. I still like it, but I am hitting some major decision fatigue. I've done so many open-world zelda-y things, it's weird that this one is proving to be such a challenge.
Whelp. My game here might be dead in the water. I can't get the FPS to stay above 15. Despawning scenery seems to actually slow it down, which makes no sense. I'm gonna give it a rest for a while and see if I think of a way to rework it.
It happens.
Really liking how this one is looking -- cartoony colours are my jam. I don't have a name or a plot for it yet, nor any ambitions of greatness. Sometimes you just gotta make these things for your own fun, right?
I've been playing around with Godot's toon shader. It's fun as heck. I love this look.
Zero joins the battle!
Updated Megaman X: The Badlands to include Zero as a playable character!
Felt like posting: I'm toying with using my MMX engine to create an original game for Steam. Would be a low-poly, open world, GTA-style, Megaman-esque, sci-fi with original characters and story. Codename Wildlight. Here's some screenshots.
Felt like posting. Got the main bosses done, and they're brutal. I'm remembering now how hard it is to fill up an open world with interesting things to explore, especially in a non-RPG.
Sexy collectible outfits are always something I've wanted to try. Still not sure if this game is going anywhere, but I'm starting to like what I see...
At long, long, long last, there is a sequel to this, taking place in a Maverick infested city. It plays like a Megaman X GTA and has 5 playable characters, cutscenes, story, missions, upgrades, bosses, and more. https://gamejolt.com/games/mmx_mc/904466
Another month, another post. Decided I'm going to do my own character design for once. Turns out if you go low-poly and use Blender, it's not that hard. Also some more screenshots.
