Alright, I'm back! :)

And here is a huge recap of what I was working on:

Okay I hope those auto posts were alright. I'm making this post to give you a little insight of what I've been working on lately. I have never thought I'd go in this direction.

I recently decided to dive into all kind of new domains! Let me recap it! I hope it will fit in one post.

1. Older content

This is what got put aside for a while.

Main side project with friend

This is the main reason I decided to take some time away from Roxy's and this account. Unfortunately it had a really sudden and disappointing ending, but I am ready to continue work on it in the future. So I won't reveal anything about it for now: I will wait until the friend I was working with comes back, or otherwise I'll team up with some other epic developers and continue maybe in the upcoming months!

It has a lot of potential, so I won't let it die.

PYRO-ILLUSION

No big progress (it was the big thing I put aside to work on the collab project), but I've fixed a few glitches here and there, optimized scenes, and completely made up my mind about various game-play sequences. I'll make sure to post some updates if I got anything new! :)

2. New exciting stuff I've been working on

I've been focusing on random, both smaller and bigger projects, that I'm excited to talk about!

Art

I've decided to spend time with drawing. I really got motivated just by looking at what people can do. I realized how quickly I manage to develop my skills (I thinks it was while I was making some concept art for that "collab project"). It's already mind-blowing! And there is still plenty for me to learn!

If you're also interested, one thing that worked for me is just to look at other's work, and see what techniques they use, how they are shading, or pictures for anatomy references. It's a really good way to start.

This was some random PI comic project I started, I don't think I will ever finish it, but it was fun to work on it. Even from 4 pages, I learnt tons of techniques and made progress (the first page featuring the first few panels was absolutely horrible, the 3 panels below are from page 4).

Even these small achievements can give you new goals and big amount of motivation!

Also surround yourself with people who motivate you and give constructive criticism, it's super important if you want to make progress.

Smaller game projects

I've been working on 2 of them. The first one is an arcade shooter game, and it almost completely finished, I just need to add online score boards, and trophies.

The other one is still in progress, I made some of the main sprites, background (it will be a game with drawn assets), animations, it's definitely going towards a good direction!

Comic project - C_B______T__

It's something completely new and I'm really excited to work on. I've been focusing on this a lot more than my other projects. The storyboard is being made, and if completed I will work on the characters designs. It is based around sci-fi, in a cyberpunk world. I may reveal more about the plot later!

I also get epic support and feedback from @JayferGames

By the way check out his projects too, he's working on some dope projects (tons of comics, art)! Find him here:

Oh, wait that link isn't working? That brings onto my final project that I will be working on:

COMICA - Comic publishing website

I'd like to work on some kind of place where hobbyist comic writers could publish their content. Just a random thing that sounded interesting to me. It would both feature a reading and an "active" development section. A bit like published games and devlogs on Gamejolt!

I would mainly focus on the reading section, making pagination for the publisher a lot more interesting and customizable. There's a big lack of this on comic publishing websites I think.

If you are working on comics or are interested to read some of them and stay updated with your favorite story, I think you might like it!

3. Small QnA

I thought I'd organize this, there were some interesting questions in the discord server!

@RobinTharsGames - What inspired you to make games, and who did you met on your journey that learned you stuff?

  —   Games always fascinated me: creating something that can potentially hook people's attention is really damn cool! I also like how much different domains you deal with when making an entire game: art, coding, sounds, soundtracks, etc... These are all things I like! The first game that inspired my was probably Eyes by @ynka , some really old stuff there :P

I didn't have the knowledge to code, I didn't have any tools. No problem, I had PowerPoint So there you have my first "interactive" projects ever!

Woah look what I dug up from the archives:

I met wonderful and talented people, some I definitely want to work with in the future!

@oddRL - Most games have one main color as the theme of the game, so what color is PI?

  —   It's a hard question, because it's keep changing haha! It's oscillating between neon blue, purple and magenta, sushi pink.

But the most recurring color in the UI of the game is definitely a mix of blue and purple. The lights in the scenes are purple, and sometimes reddish too for contrasts.

Or are you looking for some accurate hex codes?

@RachetFlyer - What is your go-to playlist to get you going, ready to work on games?

  —   I've got a playlist call DRAGONRAMA in my iTunes, its original purpose was to be played while working on the Dragon website. It has about 21 hours of songs

It mostly has some electric songs (Anjunabeats Vol 3, Global Underground - Exposures), sampled music (Yonderboi - Shallow and Profound, Röyskopp - Melody AM), lo-fi genre (Cycles), movie and game soundracks (Httyd, Ratchet and Clank Ps2), and a few more.

But usually I listen to pretty varied things, sometimes even chilling with my own music. Really anything that catches my attention can work!

@Mahmoujh - How did you start your journey from nothing to the top? What would you recommend to small developers who want to make fan games?

  —   I don't think there's any formula for that. Simply give it a go! Usually if you make a completely new project, you might need luck to get discovered. However, fnaf is a solid community: you know if you make something cool, people will see it. Everyone in the fnaf community is looking for content, so make sure you make good use of that!

If you want to make a fan game, make sure it's "reachable". Don't put expectations too high, but don't hesitate to get ambitious either. Just stick to what you want and you'll most likely reach your goal!

@fanboi_official - What's the best thing besides PI that you made in Clickteam?

  —   Definitely Pet the Cat.

No but being serious, I sometimes try to make online things. For example once I tried to make a serial key system, with some external databases, lately I've been working with the Gamejolt API.

But overall I didn't make a huge amount of projects in Clickteam. Maybe just smaller ones. I'm happy with the 2 new smaller projects I've referred to in earlier in the post, they are really fun to work on!

@Axel_Hill - Who created the story of PI?

  —   I did! Then of course I've had some nice irl pals who helped me fixing a few aspects and gave their opinion. I think the plot is pretty solid, I hope you'll like it!

@SanicAtTheDisco - What do you enjoy doing in your free time?

  —   Making sure that I've got something I like to work on. Usually fixing some music, continue previously started stuff, or start something completely new.

But during real chill times, I like to chat with people, sit, talk about non-sense, go outside if the weather is nice.

@Na3ar4ik - When did you start making a songs and who is your favorite composer?

  —   I liked Basto! in the early days, he made some nice dance songs. I started "composing" songs when I was around 12 years old.

@AmazingBeaver - How did you come up with the idea for the PI characters? Like the design/animal wise

  —   They came randomly. Roxy was a squirrel at first, Truddy was supposed to be a Lion, and now they all look like reptile dragons. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

But I always wanted to have at least a fox, because foxes are cool. And then I went more towards an "exotic" design.

@MS_Productions - How did you come up with the characters' names, personalities & such?

  —   This might break the magic a bit, but some of the names were just some randomly generated.

For example Triffor and Stradarious are completely non-existent names.

Truddy was originally going to be Trudy but when I had a conversation with @DSilverEye about the characters names, I asked what she thought of it, she replies "Yes Truddy is a perfect name!". So I'm not sure whether it was intentional from her, or just a typo, but I liked it with the double-d.

For Roxy, I was with my cousin trying to find some name that resembled to Foxy. Noxy, Loxy, Roxy... And then we chose Roxy.

Croco was originally going to be Coco. I wanted a similar name for the female version, I took Coquette. But for some reason it sounded off to me. So I chose Croquette, and made the changes to Coco becoming Croco.

I decided to go with Ruby and Sapphire because of the colors.

And for the characters that didn't get revealed, I can't say anything for now...

For the personalities, I didn't have anything planned. It was the community that started giving them, like Croco being the childish one, Triffor the cool dude with the guitar and other stuff like that. It's actually super fun to see that characters I've created inspired people to build a whole universe around them.

And my opinion, yeah I've always seen Roxy being a bossy character asserting dominance over the others. She's got a massive tail, pretty menacing look and lose her shit if things don't go as she plans haha

Looks like that's it!

I am not sure how active I will be on this account. I won't hesitate to make another post if I've got some new content!

I hope you enjoyed hearing from me again, take care y'all, see you another time!
