Am I dead? A summary of what is going on with this game


To answer the first part of the title, no.

To answer the second part may take a bit more effort

To fully explain what is going on, I have to first tell you my story

I created the game for fun, as a joke of some sorts.

However, as time has passed, I learned more and more about making the game better, look better, feel more satisfying to play through, etc etc.

At about this time, an amazing human being who goes by the name of Anonymous_Reaper started helping me with the story, in particular dialogue and character development.

The story branched out, we hit brick wall after brick wall. Oops. Nowhere for the plot to go. Hence the large gap in updates while I tried to figure out what to do next.

Some weeks later, I made the decision to restart.

“WHAT WERE YOU THINKING?!” I hear some of you say.

Here I give the reasons why I restarted

  1. The plot was going nowhere.

    • “Why is this plot going nowhere?” I hear people ask from behind their screens.
      The plot lacks drive.
      ‘I wonder what happens if I do this?’- might be fun for a while, but after some time It gets very boring.

  2. I began to dislike the suggestive content I had created.

    • Maybe there are those of you who think something along the lines of:
      “I like pure smut and don’t care about story whatsoever!”
      If so then I suggest another game, video, or other means of satisfaction.

  3. The game was an internal mess

    • This may be harder to explain, but basically nothing was organised, so to create what I wanted to create was wayyyyyy harder than it had to be.
      A clean restart fixed this completely :D

DON’T PANIC!

I’m not starting completely from scratch, I have the old game files still on my trusty 8 year old hard drive which might fail tomorrow, so for inspiration of what not to do, and maybe to borrow ideas, dialogue, personality or images, I can use them as resources.

Next!

No more dating-sim ‘ewwww’-ness!

Fast forwarding to today, I’m currently not too sure whether to release the new version, to have both available at the same time, or to wait until I have a large amount of content for the new one.

In order to unlock the power of a Shrine, you must collect 3 'Souls' from your dead corpses! (the floating blue orbs)
