An Overview


Hello, ladies and gentlemen. Bet you didn’t expect to hear back from me so soon, did you? Well, there’s a reason for that. Well… two reasons, but I’ll get into that.

Now, I just want to say how… thankful I am for all of you being so… engrossed(?) in the development of this project. I know there isn’t exactly a swarm of people following the game or anything, no ones exactly clamoring for info or anything, but hey, for my first game development project I can honestly say things look great so far. That, and well, I prefer that this game is a little “under the covers”. Don’t exactly want legal actions on me, now do I? Heh. No, it’s not really that. While that would be a big issue if this project got a lot of notice from both the internet, the public, and dare I say Toby himself, I’m more glad it isn’t getting as much attention more from the fact that… It’s kinda unwanted pressure on me. That isn’t to say there isn’t already some pressure on me or anything, after all I more or less live to both please and entertain the masses, but 100 or so people is a lot better to manage and keep aware of than… I dunno, 100,000? Good lord, if I had a number like that on here… My heart would not be in the best of conditions during development. That, and being what most people would consider “a kid”, I can only handle so much.

That brings me right to my next point of concern for this news update, I have, as of this day, entered my sixteenth year on this Earth. Yep, bet that sentenced just shocked the crap out of half of you. Then again, there are artists on tumblr and deviantart who are Da Vinci levels of good and yet they’re like 12 or something, but I digress. And… I’ve just gotta say, THIS fucking year, man. Holy hell, well, aside from the insanity of the past few months, I’ve had a lot of time to reflect on the life I have so far, a lot of the choices I’ve made, my lack of a significant other, simple things really, but all-in-all, I’ve had a lot to think about over the time since I’ve started this project almost a full year ago. All the improvements and touch ups I’ve made to the games narrative, (Would any of you newcomers have known or guessed that this was originally a joke game I started making to bandwagon on the idea of RPG Maker parody games like Five Night’s At Fuckboys and the like?), my maturity expanding as time went on with the project, my artistic progress with pixel art, sketching, abstract, and writing wise. This project, this game… Shaped me, essentially. And with it, you all have supported me, and I really, really cannot thank all of you enough. Now, I can’t exactly promise a definite release date for anything on this game just yet, it’s impossible. With all the scripting errors I need to patch up, the sprite work, making sure everything runs exactly as it’s supposed to… I’m just to early along in the development phase to do anything like that yet. I can, however, say this: I do plan on releasing some minor, neat,maybe spoilery images in the coming weeks, whether they be screen shots from in-game areas I’ve actually finished, or concept images of certain areas, characters, enemies, weapons, key items, items in general, script codes that are outright fucking with me, ideas, promotional art,

-Or anything of the sort.

Anyway, that’s all I really wanted to get out of the way for tonight, as I need to get back to actual school work and the like. But hey, with Christmas break just on the horizon, I may have just enough time to myself to further work out bugs in the coding, like that ungodly loading menu aneurysm that keeps propping up, work on sprites and battler for characters, and maybe even pump out a teaser of some kind. But, with all that said, ladies and gentlemen, I am The Lucid Gamer, I have a cake to go eat, you all have yourselves a wonderful night, your support over this past year is more than I could ever have asked for, so much so that thank you is the only real way to summarize my feelings right now, stay warm, stay safe, and take care.
