facts time!! this isn't a suicidal song, when curt says "the dreams in which I'm dying are the best I've ever had" it's meant in a way that he feels relieved because his emotions and his pain were expressed in them
the early days of tears for fears wasn't about being a band, it was about expressing roland and curt's bottled emotion mainly from their absolutely screwed childhoods. roland was abused, physically, verbally and mentally by his father, he had a bad example of family, and his father never was supportive of his singing in previous bands. his father couldn't even stand to see roland sing. curt was a misfit, somewhat raised by his mother and step-father. their songs were inspired by dr. arthur janov's book that they read, "the primal scream", and it's "primal therapy"
