Hello, everyone! It’s Kanata.
Wow, it’s already been a year, hasn’t it?
From the moment I posted the first rendition of Once Upon a Painful Time, I could’ve never imagined what Undertale: Perseverance would become.
Initially, Undertale: Perseverance was going to be a simple webcomic on Tumblr. But as people seemed more and more excited at the idea of Grace’s journey being a playable game, I began to flesh out the idea of a game more. Hundreds of drawings, story drafts, and discarded music files later, here we are!
I will be transparent and say this year has been hard for me personally. When I started Undertale: Perseverance, I will say (without getting into details) that I had been going through one of the roughest parts of my life, when I thought I would surely give up. Even through that, I stand here alive, still drawing and persevering when I thought I couldn’t anymore, so that must count for something, right?
This community, (while I do still have my grudges with it,) has given me its overwhelming support and allowed me to meet some wonderful people. Even if Undertale: Perseverance seems small to others, to me even the smallest amount of people enjoying my art means the world to me. As long as I can reach one person with my art, I am happy.
Even the most decorated words cannot express my gratitude towards anyone who takes time out of their day to look at what I have to create, so I will keep it simple.
Thank you, everyone. And to anyone who may need it: You are worth so much. Please don’t give up. Keep on going forward. It’s what Grace would want you to do.
