Art Weeklies | v2 Update

Art Weeklies:RE (Day 1): Dynamic Themes

[Read the article for all the details about this part of the update!]

The RE stands for REimagined!

After months in the planning/works, I'm excited to finally reveal the v2 update for Art Weeklies, Art Weeklies:RE! This update will make big changes to some aspects of the Art Weeklies Community/Account. Keep reading to find out what Day 1 changes bring to the table!

When I first revealed Art Weeklies, it introduced 3 kind of themes with it, Scenes, Fanarts, and Random. These worked well at first, but over time they started feeling a bit restrictive with the possibilities of what could be done in a week. What if the Scenes theme doesn't fit too well with the rest of the themes, for instance? What if you wanted to make something that isn't a scene nor fanart, but the Random theme just wasn't it? Not to mention that due to wanting to avoid repeats, the themes got progressively harder and harder to participate in... This will change soon.

Introducing the reason of why this update was made in the first place... Dynamic Themes

These will replace the current system of themes. But, how does it work?
Well... Instead of having 3 specific categories for themes, these themes don't have a specific category, which means they can be about anything, and could even have similar kind of themes each week (comparing it to the old system, there could be a week with 2 random and 1 scene theme, or 3 fanart themes, or more kind of variations, the possibilities are endless).

The amount of themes per week will also be affected slightly.

Now there can be between 2 to 4 themes a week, though the usual will still be 3 themes per week.

Also, now it'll be possible to have repeated themes, though with this change in the themes system it shouldn't be noticeable.

Now, what do these changes mean to the artists working on the weeklies?

From their side, nothing really, but now there should be better related themes for each other when it comes to combining themes, along with making it easier to work on new weeklies due to more variety. It'll also allow for more possibilities with new kind of themes that wouldn't have been done before (like weather themes).

TL;DR Patch Notes for this day:

  • Replaced the current system of Scenes, Fanarts and Random themes with Dynamic Themes.

  • Dynamic themes can be about anything, it isn't restricted by a specific category like the past system.

  • Now there can be between 2 and 4 themes each week. (But the usual will still be 3.)

  • Now there can be repeated themes, but it shouldn't be noticeable due to the changes in the themes system.

Stay tuned for Day 2 of this update! follow @ArtWeeklies or join the Art Weeklies community to see it, that account will be the one to share it!

whenever I tell my family about what I do I imagine this is what they see

As the Rapier of True Unity embarks the journey into knowing the truth of Judgement, he stumbled across what seems to be a decaying world...

ART WEEKLIES - Theme: Wither

you know, something I like to do with the redraws is to try and redraw them again to see how much I've improved since then, its a fun exercise to do for me :)

an anubi minute has passed, so it's time for the important anubi update

so i'm not feeling that well, like, at all, so it's very likely I won't be able to post many new arts

oh? oh my bad I didn't see the time, I'm 30 anubi seconds late to posting this :(

As the world slowly decays, hold your mighty blade (a pen) and STRIKE DOWN THESE NEW THEMES WITH ALL YOUR MIGHT!!!
