At some point soon, I will perform a "purge" on my follower base.

Any followers of mine who follow for no reason, or are banned, will be forcefully removed from my followers via blocking.

Please read the article for more details.

Q: How can I avoid this?

A: If you follow me, I kindly ask that you do so because you are genuinely interested in my content. If not, I encourage you to unfollow. Here's how I plan to handle this:

  1. For followers:

    • If I notice you following me but not engaging with my content, I will ask you directly why you’re following me. If your reason is unrelated to my posts, I’ll request that you unfollow.

    • If you choose not to unfollow after being asked, I will temporarily block you.

  2. If you refollow:

    • After being unblocked, if you follow me again without a valid reason, I’ll ask you once more. If the response is still unsatisfactory, I will permanently block you.

  3. Regarding blocked users:

    • Please don’t take offense at being temporarily blocked. It is not personal; my intent is to maintain a follower base genuinely interested in my work.

    • If you make posts criticizing or harassing me over a block, I will report those posts, as this behavior violates GameJolt’s Terms of Service.

  4. For friends:

    • The same expectations apply. Even if we are friends, I’ll ask why you’re following me. If it’s not related to my content, I’ll kindly ask you to unfollow.

  5. For everyone:

    • If you have no reason to follow me, feel free to unfollow now. I wouldn't be mad—I am doing this to ensure my follower base is genuinely engaged.

To make this clear, I will include “(Read bio)” in my display name and link directly to my pinned post in my bio. I will also ask all new followers why they are following me, and the same conditions will apply: failure to unfollow when requested will result in a temporary block, and repeated refollowing without genuine interest will lead to a permanent block.

Why am I doing this?

While I have a significant follower count, my posts receive minimal engagement. I aim to build a follower base that is truly interested in my content. This is especially important to me because I hope to become a GameJolt Creator. Meeting the follower count requirement is only part of the process—you also need engaged followers.

Additionally, I’m staying out of any drama to maintain a clean reputation, as this is essential for achieving my goal. Thank you for understanding.
