Our new soundtrack is here bites you right in your ears folks!
And here we are with the first volume of our brand new OST you can listen on our GameJolt page! There were some quite interesting works we just didn't wanna to get rid of, yet there were some soulless creations we didn't wanna see. Even though it's just the first volume, our musician just loves his work as always:
-I think that this work might not be the best one so far, I actually do think that this is just the beginning of something big. I decided to go back to chiptune for a while and I was pretty much happy doing this work. I wanted to make the soundtrack feel like it's something different from Undertale, yet still attached to it. I dislike the modern UTC for its way to do the music. You might not agree with me, but actually I think that we shouldn't rely on the original Undertale that much. It doesn't matter how this sound in the original when you do different thing. After all, we're not Toby Fox, we're just us who has our own head and vision on some things. We must embrace OUR creativity, not just doing "something that Toby might've" or "Undertalish". Were we even thinking of what this "Undertalish" is actually about?
Our thoughts on the story
We were thinking on this for a while and we agreed on some details about it:
Our AU is darker than the others, yet this darkness is more of a depressive anxiety than blood and gore. The dark grey violet color suits it more than enough. Even though there is a darkness, but humor is a humor and Temmie will be one of the humorous characters here.
Water is one of the most important things in this AU. Ruins became half-drowned near the ruined town, near it stands a church of the Flame Angel. Snowdin is starting to become a scorched earth, its icy caves are filled with goons. Waterfall, as we said before, one of the most important locations, its waters have destroyed the western part of Waterfall town once and are filled with a bad guys. Holtand is starting to lose its lava pool, it's filled with a lot of money-grabbing monsters. The CORE is a reason to most of these transformations. There is a heavy rain in the NEW HOME with lightning.
A lot of new characters and locations are going to be added. Not only those who are gonna be important, but even just some side characters like NPCs, shopkeepers and episodic characters. The important ones are going to be the leaders of the main fractions that are going to pull the story through: Ruisso, the church leader; The unnamed leader of the Wandering Knights; Roger, Waterfall bandits leader; The unnamed economist that leads the processes that are happening in Hotland. Some characters may even be Chara's teammates at the time.
The Flame Angel church is one of the main sides of the conflict Chara have been dragged in by accident. Not only the seven human souls are important to queen, but something else, more important to her, and this thing is bothering the church. You, playing as Chara, must seek for the truth behind her real goal. Or... you may just not care about it and destroy the whole world.
Mettablook, Chara, Temmie
Oooh, these little morons...
Chara is the human that fell into the underground while making photos for their own purposes. They're too kind for the underground as it is, so Temmie always feel sorry for them. They're kinda sleepy so if it's time to wake up they're probably gonna sleep until the lunch. Even though their camera is broken, probably they'll find a way to repair it. Their clothes are poor green coat, grey sweater with green and black strips, dark-grey pants and brown warming boots.-Even though it's an androgynous humanoid according to the original Undertale, I (the artist, yeah, EreizerStar, I'm drawing pictures) prefer to call them as 'he/his'. Punch me but I don't think that the protagonist of an Undertale AU shouldn't have a gender, it's an artist's decision.
Temmie is a small dog-like looking doll with both dog and cat ears. They're wearing a red sweater with yellow stripes. Their neck has a hole that was made by some monsters with a knife, but Temmie (until the short break in Asgore's house) does not possess it. They're heavily wounded, but they were very handy so the wounds have sutures on them. They fell kinda awkward near Chara and mostly they're pissed when something's going opposite the plan (especially when Chara sleeps). Though they don't seem like it but they're still very kind.
And, of course, our beloved... writer. Mettablook is just a ghost in a form of the flying blanket with a big hair bangs. He's a bit depressive when it comes to talking, but when it comes to his talent of sneaking right into the soul with his words, texts and voice - he's becoming very shy. He has never been accepted by the audience: his texts were bright and interesting, but not anyone could understand it, his voice was so soft and enveloping that nobody could have even think of him seriously, his talking manner was that expressive and bright that everyone just wanted him to get lost as "it's too damn bright for this place I could start to throwin' up with a rainbow, another enthusiast". He left to the old ruins when his cousin Napstablook has gone and others started to think of Metta as a dead-weight because he didn't wanted to do what his family was doing (he doesn't dislike it, but from that moment he started to pretend that he hates it for real). Now he's just think of himself as a trash. But... will it last long if Chara will bother him?
Thank you for reading this! We must also thank our previous spriter, @VEEnder
, for making these Chara's sprites when this project was only starting to grow. Thank you a lot, we owe you for this.
Wait for the new updates! We're still working.
P.S. We know that the new soundtrack was published two or three days ago and we're late with this. Sorry, we were dealing with some technical problems.
