okay so last night i was listening to the bad things soundtrack for fun
i was listening to... song 8? saint augustine. it plays in scene eleven, which i think is titled staircase.
anyway, in the comment section of that song, I kept seeing people mention Ivan. stuff like "if only ivan climbed those stairs irl", "IVAN YOU DONT HAVE TO CLIMB THOSE STAIRS-", and "and as Ivan climbed further" and so on.
as you can see from the screenshot (which is from the CREATOR of bad things), the odd numbered scenes are told from ANDREW'S perspective, and are told through metaphors.
so it really pissed me off to see a million people saying scene 11, AN ODD NUMBERED SCENE, was from IVANS point of view.
i kin both of them (Ivan and Andrew) greatly, but out of the two, I think Andrew is my favorite in terms of character representation, since the only way you get to learn about him is through ivans one-sided pov or really strange metaphors. don't get me wrong, I love Ivan's character, but if you look just a little bit deeper for him you'll find out everything. for Andrew you gotta REALLY search, and that's what makes replaying bad things so fun for me.
so it just really pissed me off that people were misinterpreting one of my favorite scenes for andrew (as someone who's spent at least a few weeks hyperanalyzing each scene one by one ((I'm still not finished LOL)))
wow I kinda feel pretentious??? and like an asshole
sorry chat i get a little CREAAZZYY when it comes to my hyperfixations
