- "Side"-characters from media that parodies popular, influencial video games (FNAF and Half-Life) taking on the form of an existing character or model (Balloon Boy being... well, Balloon Boy, and Benrey using the security guard model from the original Half-Life) and originally acting as just another bizarre and comical character working relatively unassuming jobs at certain corporations (BB working as a performer and vendor for Freddy Fuckboy's Pizza, and Benrey working as a security guard for Black Mesa) that are later revealed to be the true main antagonists of their stories all along, weilding god-like power.
- Both hold a huge grudge against the main protagonist (Freddy Fuckboy and Gordon Freeman), who they originally somewhat aided but later betrayed, later facing them off along with their group of three other friends (Bonnie, Foxy and Chica/Coomer, Bubby and Tommy).
- Both have travelled through time at some point in their stories (Balloon Boy travelling through time in a DeLorean to kill his older self and a do bunch of other stuff/Benrey travelling to the past to catch up with Gordon).
- Both turn into gigantic abominations in their final fight against the protagonist(s). (Although taking on various forms throughout the series, BB turns into Leviathan BB in the the final game, becoming a giant head with multiple arms/Benrey becoming huge and contorting his body in his fight against the Science Team).
- Both have either come back from the dead in one way or another, or have appeared to have died but later turned out to be alive.
- Despite their stories shitpost and/or comical nature, they still have an underlying story within them.
