Behind the scenes - August 15th reward.

On August 1st I challenged my followers to give me as many charged stickers as they could, and that if we reached a milestone before the 15th, I would show off some stuff from a new Mary-related project I've been working on.

Keep in mind everything shown is not final and subject to change blah blah blah.

As promised, here's some behind the scenes development with captions:

1 - The minigame:

Well, that's definitely an upgrade from the first minigame, eh? Not only does it look more visually appealing than the original version, but I'm building a fully functional level editor to streamline the process of making stages. Maybe I'll release this as a standalone game after the main Mary games are done.

Clickteam can do a lot more than people give it credit for! And yes, the hedges automatically adjust their sprite based on their neighbors - so you can just draw whatever shapes you want and they automatically adapt.

Camera blockers and Spawn objects allow you to do pretty much anything with the massive level space.

2 - The windows:

Customization is cool, and everyone else is doing it these days, so why not join them?

In this new project (and yes I'm adding this feature into MA2 as well), I couldn't decide whether to go for the true blue XP feel, or to breathe a little more life into the design from MA1.

I decided "why not both?", and then I added the MA1 theme ripped straight from that game, and a Mac theme just for fun.

I also created an efficient way of generating 9slice windows in Clickteam without any shaders or extensions. Here's that tool in use:

3 - Models and style

Here's some various assets from the new project. These are not final and are subject to change.

In no particular order:

(yes the cover art is temporary)

As you can see, I've completely sold my soul to PBR photorealism. Here are my regrets:

Anyway, this concludes the showcase. Hope you enjoyed. The game page will be going up on the 20th.

Newest draft of composite video shader fixes color issues (caused by different versions of GLSL clamping values differently) and uses real sampled CCD sensor thermal noise. See for yourself!

Working on the better camera shader.

Full lens, CCD, and transmission emulation.

First stable version of new multi pass shader ported. Paired it with a lower resolution and era-appropriate aspect ratio for vibes. (and to make sure the shaders scale properly)

Also shows off some of the enhanced entry area.

Toy Mary looking for an audience.

The original Night Shift at Freddy's 2.

Sequel to the photoshop version of NSaF.

This game was a mood and I almost regret scrapping it.

It just keeps getting better and better.

Literal bug-turned-feature. I am gonna make this happen if you try to move the window while there's no camera feed.

The Case of the Missing Cookies.

Happy 10 years to this masterpiece @Stojo
