Zombies vs. Knights is now in a second beta phase!
Unlike the first beta, which was was a huge free-for-all that yielded some great information, I’ve decided to focus this beta phase in a little different, and hopefully better way. There’s some guidelines which are really simple, and will amplify your voice on this great game!
Beta Objective:
Each tester starts by looking at the list below, and choosing three (3) areas that they would be most interested in reporting on. Then, you play the game here, and try to find out everything you can. Then tell me, either by posting in my GameJolt Shoutbox, Private Messaging me on the Unity Forums (my username there is Asvarduil), or catching me in GJ’s chat system.
Topics under review are:
Knight Faction Balance
Do Knights have a competitive advantage against Zombies? Or is it the other way around? Does a particular unit do it’s job too well? Not well enough? Is a unit “just right”? Do you find each unit’s abilities useful? Do you have any further suggestions for the Knight faction?
Zombie Faction Balance
Do Zombies dominate the field when you’re not even trying? Or can a Knight in a vegetative state ruin your Graveyard? Does a particular unit do it’s job too well? Not well enough? Or did I get some “just right?” Do you find each unit’s abilities useful? Do you have any further suggestions for the Zombie faction?
UI Quality
Is the UI effective? Did anything about the presentation of game information confuse you? Which parts of the UI need work in your opinion?
Graphics Quality
How is the game’s art style? Does a particular model or texture need additional work? What animations were good? What animations weren’t? Were the game’s visual effects pleasant?
Audio Quality
How is the game’s audio? Is the ambient sound too much or too little? Does the presence or absence of music suit the game? What sounds do you expect when you make a certain event happen (i.e., selecting a unit, or when units from opposite factions collide, dealing damage?)
Beta Rewards:
While monetary compensation is out of the picture, testers will be accredited on the Credits pane from the title screen. You may notice a few people from the Unity community who are already accredited there; you could be next.
Also you get to play a game free.
