Intro

Over the past 2 years we have been hard at work creating a new version of Over My Dead Body. Now we are finally nearing completion! Before release we would like to share the game with a small group of fans and avid followers, dedicated people intent on helping us make OMDB the best it can be.
Feedback is a necessary part of development, so feel free to leave comments, tweet us, or send an email with your thoughts!

The Process

Currently we are looking at starting a beta test of our game at the end of March 2017. We would do this by releasing a limited (50) number of copies of the game on Steam and GameJolt using their respective Early Access functions. Once this number of copies of the game are sold, the game will be hidden from Early Access. We would sell this beta-test version of the game for around $5, which is half of what we are expecting to sell the final game for ($10).

The Benefit for the Tester

By joining the paid beta test, you’ll receive the following benefits:

1. You get the game at a discount. You’ll get the full PC game at no extra charge when it’s complete

2. You’ll get a credit in our game as a tester.

3. You’ll get to beta-test an early version of the game and get an inside peak at the development of the game

4. Your contribution to testing the game will help us make a better game.

Number 3 is not for everyone. The game will be incomplete and unpolished. We completely understand that this is not something everyone would be interested in. But if you are the kind of person who is interested in seeing how game development works (even the bad parts!) then maybe this proposal would intrigue you.

Conclusion

We’re asking for you to help us do a paid beta-test. We are still looking for feedback on this, so please leave comments. Our timeline at this time looks like a beta-testing release end of March, and then about 2 months of testing with a hopeful launch in June. We should also note that all the numbers and dates in this update are subject to change. We want to thank everyone for the support we received over the past 3 years since launching the original Over My Dead Body. It has meant so much to us and we truly enjoyed developing this game. Thank you.

We would also like to note that the original prototype that is currently on the site will be removed between now and release. We are doing this because we feel the prototype no longer represents the quality of the game Over My Dead Body has become.
