Hey all, sorry I'm a day late, life came up and i had to account for that

So. Where to start?

Over the last few months I have been working on rewriting and remastering my old projects to have them be ready to make a game with. This started out with just FATAL MISTAKE.

However, the thought of Trial and Error crossed my mind.

I had a lot of ideas, and a lot of things I could do. But, I wanted to do it right. I wanted to make something I'm proud of.

So, what did I do?

Trial and Error is being completely rewritten from the GROUND UP. This is going to be a big project starting development immediately after Fatal Mistake releases in 2026, and will take a while to come out. However, I would like to introduce the new version of the game

UNDERTALE: HOPES AND DREAMS is a project that aims to rewrite the basis of Trial and Error while keeping the initial thought behind it.

Set 10 years after the Queen Toriel ending, the game follows a now 18 year old Frisk returning to the underground to set things right, to fix the mistake of not following Flowey's advice and going back.

The game has effectively removed all "Dusttale" aspects in favor of a story more grounded in Undertale's initial lore, with the exception of some deltarune characters (Already confirmed to exist in-universe) being included.

Flowey will be featured as a major antagonist, actively antagonizing you in ways he didn't during the original game's story.

Each character's role is deliberately chosen to culminate in the game's ending being truly satisfying.

SPEAKING OF CHARACTERS

CHARACTER BACKGROUNDS

FLOWEY - Flowey is a manipulative flower, lacking a soul. He has an extensive knowledge on how the world works, understanding saves, loads, resets. He has been working in the shadows as of recently, manipulating everything behind the scenes for the next time a human falls so he can enact his ultimate plan. Sure, you threw a wrench into it last time by not coming back, but this time it’s foolproof. He’s had 10 years to prepare for this.

TORIEL - Toriel, the caring, motherly figure, has fallen into a bit of a depression. Sans has been filling her in on the state of the underground since she gave up her position as queen, and it hurts her greatly to see what has become of her kingdom. She still puts on a smile, aiming to care for any human that falls down.

SUZY - Suzy is a young monster who heavily opposes the direction of the royal guard, as someone who used to aspire to be a guardsman. She currently takes care of and regularly hangs around the Queen’s second daughter, Noel, keeping her as far away from the capitol as possible by hiding her in the Snowdin Peaks. She has a tough exterior but has a warm heart. She has a disdain for humans, but not because of the queen’s policy. Suzy is jealous of the humans, those who live above without a care while monsters suffer. She will also hang around Old Man Gerson every so often.

NOEL - Noel is the secondborn daughter of Queen Holiday, being rather rebellious after her mother’s takeover. Noel heavily disagrees with her mother’s policies regarding humans, seeing them as unjust and cruel to any human who may fall down. She currently resides in Snowdin Peaks, having run away from home a year after her mother’s takeover. She hangs around Suzy, who keeps her hidden from the guard, which is actively searching for her. 

PAPYRUS - Captain of the Royal Guard, Papyrus is a kind, caring figure that most people in the underground look up to in ways different to how they looked up to Undyne. Papyrus cares deeply about the underground and its inhabitants, often turning to his brother for advice. Papyrus is rather disliked among the guards, who are still rather deep in hatred for humans.

SANS - Sans is an entertainer, the co-host on MTTLive and the owner of the casino in MTT resort. Sans resides primarily in the ruins, but will often stay in his old house when his brother needs him. Sans is extremely disappointed with the state of things, but he won’t voice that all too openly. 

UNDYNE - The Royal Scientist’s assistant, Undyne has reluctantly agreed to reopen the experiments within the True Lab. It pains her to see the state of the kingdom she once swore to protect, believing that the kingdom is becoming the very thing the humans were afraid of to begin with. 

ALPHYS - The Royal Scientist, Alphys has reluctantly reopened the experiments in the true lab, being coaxed into it by Queen Holiday. She spends most of her time outside of work in isolation, with the only person to ever visit her being Undyne. 

METTATON - The host of MTTLive, Mettaton, now with a complete body, does his best to entertain so he can keep spirits up in the underground. It has had a good effect, but a majority of the population is still bitter, negative. Mettaton has brought his cousins into the production of the show, along with sans as his co-host.

THE QUEEN - Carol Holiday, bitter, angry, wrathful. After the loss of her husband and her firstborn, she decided she would overthrow the queen, ruling over the underground using fear and dogma, rather than peace and kindness. She coaxed Alphys into reopening the lab experiments, longing for a chance to have her family back.
