Build #018 is now live!


Look for Polystrike in the Xbox Store under the Creators tab!

That’s right! With our new Xbox Live integration and improved gamepad support, we can now publish to the Xbox Store! We haven’t applied to ID@Xbox yet, so you don’t get achievements yet, but you can play multiplayer without the need of purchasing an Xbox Live Gold subscription!
(May take a few days after the post before this goes into affect!)

The ever so long-awaited Build #018 has finally arrived! After a full month of vigorous programming, modeling, and testing we finally have the biggest changelog since Build #010! We ran through all the code and fixed several bugs that have been lingering all throughout the past builds. We also implemented the hardest system to implement - Rounds! Rather than an endless sea of bots spawning and aimless player vs player battles, bots will now spawn in waves in our Bot Battle gamemode! When there are 2 players or more, you can play Team Deathmatch, up to 10 exterminations!

Right, enough babbling, what you really want to see is the ridiculous changelog we have!

What’s new in Build #018:

  • Rounds with two different game modes: Bot Battle and Team Deathmatch

  • Fixed a teeny winy PlayerList bug where absolutely nothing showed up

  • Changelog now shows properly on monitors with absurdly small aspect ratios

  • Fixed a bug where clicking on any Disconnect button will show a Timeout error

  • Fixed missing gamepad bindings

  • When you plug in a gamepad, a diagram with an XBox controller appears showing the controls

  • Fixed Engineer class button being on top of the connection dialog

  • Sprinting can now be canceled when you fire

  • Added Medkit. Left click to smack some HP into a friendly or right click to drop on the ground

  • Fixed a rigging glitch where the P-2 and MP5 meshes were assigned to incorrect bones

  • Bots now spawn in waves rather than in a fixed period of time

  • AK-47 and Roughcut now deal a little extra damage

  • MP5 does a little less damage

  • New Bot model made by Kermit

  • Bots now punch instead of shoot. Don’t get too close!

  • Changed Bot health from 100 to 50

  • Bots now check for players every second rather than every frame which imrpoves CPU and Network performance

  • Discord Rich Presence has been temporaily disabled due to errors

  • Fixed third person walking/running animations

  • Fixed third person rotation not transmitting

  • Fixed jittery third person movement

  • Fixed Supply drops

  • Supply drops wouldn’t destroy on non-MasterClients

  • Supply drops wouldn’t be assigned proper colors

  • Supply drops would all be Bunny Hop on non-MasterClients

  • Fixed weapons not switching properly when selecting left (Push Q or mousewheel up)

  • Ultra and Very High Post-Processing Qualities have been removed due to rendering errors

  • FPS counter has been added to network stats

  • Changed Maverick FunnySound from Pow to Pew (not loud)

  • Added offline mode! Click Play Offline to simply play Bot Battle solo!

  • Push F5 or press the right stick on a gamepad and wait 5 seconds to respawn

  • GameJolt and Xbox Live integration! Xbox Live is only available if you download Polystrike from the Windows Store or the Xbox Creators Tab

  • Bot AI is slightly improved

  • Bots can now climb ladders, watch out!
