Necromancy Magic can only be activated after the wielder dies. *Only the dead can command the dead* An idea with this is that Sylvia (a vampire) has this magic and it's activated after she is killed by Hunter (a werewolf).
When Crescent Moon uses too much of her moon powers, she enters the "New Moon" phase—the weakest moon phase—where she is rendered weak and unable to use those abilities for some time. This phase is displayed in the shape of her eyes.
