Canary releases announcement + Where is the Source Code?


Heya, everyone. I will be discussing a couple of things! Sorry for the month-long absence. I am still working on the engine!

Canary Releases Announcements

Of course, the engine needs a desperate update but the scope for the second alpha build of the engine keeps getting bigger. So, I decided it would be a great benefit to release the update, albeit unfinished and potentially unstable, as a canary release. Everyone can try the build earlier!

When will the canary release come? Soon! Very soon! Do not fret!

Where is the Source Code?

Hey! This is a mod of FNF'! Where is the source code? Ninjamuffin specifically requested mods to be open source!

Well, here is the thing. I do not classify Unity Party as a mod of FNF', so I do not believe I am obligated to release the source code. I did not modify FNF' but used their assets. Though, the engine is supposed to help make making FNF' mods easier, so of course the engine's source code will be released. I am debating whether I should release it during the canary phase or release it after the update is stable and officially released.

Great news. Google Play Games is now supported for the next update. However, not every part of the Google Play Games functionalities will be implemented or utilized.

We just released a BUNDLE template for people to work with for UNITY PARTY, that released today! Please enjoy the ALPHA of our coding-free FNF engine made in Unity (tested, potatoes can run that thing!) You can also use the Song importer for yourself!

Pssst. Here's a thing that is in the works!

I will be switching from a self-hosted server to multiple servers in different regions! Each server will, unfortunately, have spots for 20 players max. Though, there'll be 8 servers available and players worldwide can join a server near them!
