Chapter 3

                             Quarantined

Boston, January 5th, 2020, The QZ Zone

It was a cold morning in the QZ zone. Fedra trucks and patrols went along the streets enforcing their rules. Boston was never the same after the outbreak.  Joel woke up in his bed. He never recovered from Sarah’s death. His brother tommy had gone elsewhere.  The Quarantine Zone was a desolate place where food was unfairly distributed. The rich and powerful got more while the less fortunate people got less. One day Joel woke up and got a call on his small flip phone. He answered and it was a ransom. They had Tess. Joels close friend. Joel went out to see what was going on. He found the man who had her hostage. Joel slaughtered his men and shot the head of security. Then he went to kill that man. He chased him down and eventually found him Joel asked where his guns were. Joel then killed him by beating him with a pipe. There was a shadow from behind Joel. He turned around and drew is gun ready to fire.  It was a firefly. A woman named Marlize. Joel looked behind her and saw a girl with a knife drawn. The woman said he needed to escort her out of the QZ zone. Joel said no but then the woman said that there was an outpost with supplies and gear that Joel could use. So then Joel went out with the girl.  She said her name was Ellie. The two along with Tess went into the abandoned Boston......
