City Color Grade and Optimization!

I have something to admit… that sounded like a hook to get people to read further it wasn’t supposed to be…. anyway for the last month my computer hasn’t been able to run the game. If I’d been clever at the start I would have used Unity 5.3’s scene manager and set it up so that areas of the map loaded and unloaded while you play. BUT I wasn’t and so the entire map loads at the start and is always there. Today I began optimizing the game, adjusting the terrain, baking the lighting and setting up different quality levels. In the future I am also planning on having areas of the map deactivate when they are out of sight. At the moment it runs comfortably at ‘Medium’ on my computer which I don’t think qualifies as a ‘gaming PC’. I did however have to disable the wing mirrors and the rear view mirrors for ‘Low’ and ‘Medium’ settings so if anyone can run ‘High’ when the game is released I’d love to see some footage!

I have also decided to color grade the city to unify it and so that it matches the rest of the game.

Some time ago, we posted a screenshot of the Mexico level. A curiosity about it is that, like some other scenarios of the game, it was inspired by a real landscape, The Basaltic Prisms of Santa María Regla. It is one of the natural wonders of the country!
