Okay so as you all know I said I’m going to work on some Source mods for fun. Right now, there’s only one in development, and I already have a Discord server set up specifically for it.
However, I was wondering if I should make the server a hub for all my source projects instead of just one. That way, it would be easier to manage and also give my smaller projects a chance to shine. For example, a small TF2 rebalance mod is nice, but it doesn’t really deserve its own server, yet it still needs a place where people can ping each other to start games. A central hub would be beneficial in that regard.
At the same time, depending on how many projects I end up making, some could get overshadowed, or the server could become bloated. I’d try my best to prevent that from happening though. I’ve seen plenty of servers for multiple projects with thousands of channels for each one, and most of them go unused. Why have a general chat for every single mod when you can just have one? So yeah, I’d keep things streamlined.
I’d just like to know what you all think, since nobody I’ve asked privately has given me feedback. If I do make it a central hub, I’d call it “What A Source Mod!” since that’s the organization name I’m already using on GitHub (aka the place where all the repos for my projects are stored).
