Controls

Making a game for #spectocular is a challenge !

To face this difficulty, menus will have a very simple design:

  • menus are constructed as “wheels” : you go to left and right, circling back if you keep going in a direction. You go left or right by blinking one eye.

  • you can then confirm your choice, by blinking both eyes.

  • if necessary, you access “sub-wheels”

  • every sub-menu has a back option to return to main wheel

  • have extra confirmations yes/no to minimize mistakes

The game will be a side-scroller where you control the main character, planting seeds to overcome obstacles.

  • If you blink once, you move one cell

  • If you blink twice rapidly, the character keeps moving in the set direction (it is boring to blink too many times)

  • Blink both eyes once to make the character stop moving

  • Blink both eyes when not moving will open main menu, with abilities to use and options

After that, it is all small optimisations :
-villagers always say the same thing, no need to talk to them, just pass them by and they will talk
-character can’t jump, it will have an ability to activate instead to go up in some situations
-no hardcore area you have to retry 20 times

Now back to work !

Don’t hesitate to share your thoughts :)

Colourful speech

Just as Pecaminosa's musicians #improvise this rendition of #LittleSunflower 🌻, so do we improvise with this post you're reading. 😂

What's coming out of your own improvs? 🤔

Been working lately on lots of 'behind-the-scenes' boring stuff that no one really cares about, so here’s a guy playing the sax for some reason.

Shoobies leave a sticky trail of mucus in their wake, which can impede movement for any creature that steps in it.
