Dark Cell: Remastered - Dev diary #3

Greetings,

this week’s progress was rather slow because I was trying to come up with an idea for the trailer which should be out by the end of this week. I continued working on new monster sprites and mechanics as well as adding details to the environment. I’ll drop a screenshot later tonight.

I also started replacing some sounds in the game and adding new ones. This also includes music but finding a perfect soundtrack that fits the atmosphere can be tough. Ambience sounds can make any horror encounter become a thousand times scarier: but you need to pinpoint the exact moment. In my opinion, that creates a truly atmospheric horror game.

I was thinking about adding trophies into the game and raise its replayability. This creates a whole lot of new possible features like secret rooms, hard puzzles that the player may or may not discover etc. Once I’m finished with core features for the new version, I’ll start working on trophies (if you played Dark Cell and have any ideas for trophies, post them below in comments).

Trailer coming later this week.
