Greetings!
Today I’d like to show a list of features that will come in Dark Cell: Remastered version,including those that have already been implemented and those that are yet to come.
NOTE: THESE FEATURES ARE NOT YET AVAILABLE IN THE CURRENT, DOWNLOADABLE VERSION!
Current features implemented in the upcoming Remastered version:
Interface and graphical changes:
Revamped lightning system - new, dynamic lights that affect brightness of objects, giving a more realistic feel
Various bugs regarding the lighting system have been fixed, including the black surface overdraw
Revamped character view - the view is now much closer and is focused solely on the main character
Gameplay changes:
Updated flashlight for the main character - now it can only be used to emit light in two directions. The light will also get dimmer over time if no batteries are used
Complete overhaul of all monsters - this includes new graphical look, new sounds and behaviour of all monsters
Cutscenes - they will greatly enhance the story and atmosphere of the game
Numerous animations for all kinds of interactive objects - from player picking up batteries to monsters swinging their claws
New game ending
Various objects added to specific levels for visual purposes
Other features and fixes:
Elevator controls updated - you will now use ‘W’ to move the elevator up or ‘S’ to move the elevator down
Several puzzles made easier to solve
Several sprites are now sharper
Revamped sounds with updated quality
Upcoming features in the Remastered version:
new menu
new music
a couple of new levels with new puzzles
more bug fixes
Sadly, there is no release date yet. I want to make sure that everything works as planned without rushing the update, but once I’m close to finishing it, there will be a definite release date announced.
