I should’ve written sooner, but the scratching at the cabin door never stopped. Hours holding the rifle, waiting for silence that never came. Dawn arrived, pale and tired, and only now do I dare write. Maybe words are the only bullets I have left.
The second night was worse than the first. The cabin walls felt thinner with every sound. Scratching. Breathing. Or maybe it was my own. I didn’t sleep. Couldn’t.
This diary is no longer a choice—it’s survival. If I stop writing, I’ll forget I exist.
