December Devlog


Howdy ya'll!

I hope everyone's having a good holiday season! Happy Hanukkah and merry Christmas to those who celebrate!

Game Delay

As mentioned briefly last month, the game did sadly get pushed back. I'm going to refrain from giving myself a time limit, to ensure I have time to polish the demo and not stress myself out.

What happened was I got a job and my expectations for it were different from what I got- I used to work a similar job in a smaller town and didn't think it'd be so bad. Boy howdy was I wrong! I got so swamped with holiday work I didn't have time to work on the like I had wanted.

BUT! I got a different job! And now I have a consistent schedule and it's not as taxing! I got weekends off and can work more with my team ^_^ it's going great so far!

So now that the holidays are almost over, I'll have more time to focus on Angel's and get it over the finishing line. Thank you all for understanding and being patient with me. I wanted this December release more than anyone, I can tell you that!

As for what I've managed to get done since October:

The script is English script is 80% done. All that's left are a few battles and two scenes and some (mostly grammar) revisions.

Sprites are still coming along at a steady pace, there's a fair amount left to do but I want to finish up the coding first most. We're getting real close!

The main cast have their full turn arounds and for each of their character states like idle, walk, run etc. (except Toriel)

What's left are: Town NPCs, some overworld buildings, battle sprites and portraits. -Or rather, I DO have those last two, but as I've changed their base sprite and will need to redo their various expressions... >o>

Code wise, the cutscene and character state machines need some edits, but function as is. Only 2 puzzles are left to code, and each are partly written already. There's various little things that need attention as well, as . The biggest hurdle right now is the Battle System, which has been our main focus as of late. As mentioned with work schedule-my time working with another coder has been limited. Here's to hoping it can be finished with a few more voice sessions!
