Heyo! I’ve been hard at work polishing up the interiors of the shops, clubs, banks and bars you’ll be visiting in Desert Child.

They all use a similar User Interface design, with a “stencil” layer on top, and a coloured layer underneath that.

I’ve got this whole big in-universe cannon for it too. There’s company that creates hologram operating systems for shops and businesses, and they can be personalised with colours and logos. You can see each shop actually has a different little icon, and they all animate differently. The idea is that they’re really cheap, so everyone uses them, the exeption being the shops on Earth, where everyone uses older systems.

It’s just a way of being able to make the game’s UI seem uniform, but also not make every shop look the same. Hopefully it works.

On a different note,
Desert Child has a new Wiki page!
https://desertchild.gamepedia.com/Desert_Child_Wiki
I was going to announce it at the same time as the Beta, but hey, why not get it out there?
It’s been put together by the amazing people at Gamepedia, and they’ve really gone above and beyond with this one. Thanks guys!
I’m sure it’ll become a great resource, and I don’t doubt I’ll probably check it from time to time when I’m trying to keep track of things, haha.
Finally, I don’t have any huge history lesson this week, so I’ll just leave you with this fucking amazing documentary on the Game POLYBIUS. It’s so good.
