Dev Log 1: "Plans"

25/7/24

Hello! Welcome to the first official Dev Log for my Undertale fangame, "GS!UNDERFELL sans Fight".

In this Dev Log, I would like to share exactly what this game is, along with my future plans for it.

So, without further ado, let's jump right in!

What is this fangame?

This fangame is my take on a Sans fight from the iconic Underfell AU.

(For anyone who doesn't know what it is, basically Flowey is a good guy now and everyone else is edgy and curses)

It will also stand out from other fangames (for better or worse) with the minimalist art style you've probably seen on the page!

What is it's purpose?

This game has two main purposes:

  1. To help me get back into coding fangames

  2. To create a balanced Underfell Sans fight for the community to enjoy

At the end of the day, I genuinely just want to make a good fangame for fans to enjoy, even if it's not perfect.

My Main Plans

There will be a 1 Phase fight by the Ruins door with differences depending on how high you set your LV (mainly, harder attacks and new dialogue).

There will also be cutscenes before and after the fight, showing the consequences of your actions and adding world building.

(There also may or may not be a Hard Mode.)

(Don't quote me.)

Route differences

A small segment going more in-depth about different routes up until Snowdin.

Feel free to skip this.

  • Pacifist:

    • Both variations:

      • The main thing both variations share is that Flowey will join you, however having a different attitude depending on whatever route you picked.

    • True Pacifist:

      • On this route, you never kill anyone and don't harm the majority of encounters. Flowey will try convincing you to fight more and will get frustrated with you, questioning your beliefs.

    • Flawed Pacifist:

      • On this route, you harm the majority of monsters you encounter while still refraining from killing anyone. Flowey will support this insisting you need to be seen as a threat to survive.

  • Neutral:

    • On this route, Flowey will not join you on your adventure, describing you to be "just like everyone else". some monsters will be more scared of you, and some more hostile. Toriel also doesn't see you as a human.

  • Genocide:

    • Both variations:

      • The main thing both variations share is Flowey will warn all the Ruins monsters left to evacuate once you reach Toriels house, and will also warn the rest of the underground.

    • True Genocide:

      • On this route, you go out of your way to kill every last monster, grinding until no one is left.

    • Flawed Genocide:

      • On this route, you kill every monster you encounter but don't go out of your way to clear areas.

  • Hard Mode:

    • All that really changes is the difficulty of attacks, the strength of ATK/DF and the HP you get from healing items along with some small dialogue alterations.

I think that's mainly it, so I'll leave it at that for now.

Thanks for reading! (sorry for the lack of images)

I want to get better at painting shadows.

Sometimes I wonder what really is the point of publishing sprites working my ass off when no one pays heed.

Anyways I present my by far biggest creation. DTLG Phase 3

Enemies can also suddenly spawn through Realm Rifts. These Rift Spawns are going to be stronger than the ones wandering around. TBD on the enemies... #screenshotsaturday #godstear #madewithunity
