Dev Log #2 (About damn time)


Heya once again, its been some time since the first dev log as you can see (oh god its been 7 months-), you know how it is, everyone have been busy with things... and so have I

Anyway lets start with something small, like the new game page thumbnail and banner plus screenshots

Only showing the thumbnail since you can already see the new stuff by just scrolling up to the top of the page

I kept the pose the same because I didn't see the need to change it plus I really wanted to keep it close to the OG thumbnail, all that's changed is the art style so now its more accurate this time compared to the older art I made for the game page

Borders

Yah, borders, I never really liked borders since those distract me very easily but I know that a good chunk of people like borders so I decided to get those things into the game, and even better, I was given permission to use a few borders from unreleased FNaS 3 2.0, not all sadly so the ones that I can't use are being redrawn

And yes, the main menu is based off of the OG FNaS 3 1.0 demo, its almost 1:1 recreated, I had problems recreating the title

The normal main menu will be used for the full game, for now we have the demo one

There is also one little surprise for those who beat the game which is border related, that's all I'll say about borders for now


New Mystery + Asset refurbishing

That shadow sonic easter egg from the updated FNaS 3 1.0 is getting replaced here with a familiar character, and that character is Phantom Sanic, brought to us by CwoodsWDC

Shadow sonic stays in the game, currently I'm not sure what exactly I'll do with him but It will be something cool

Did you notice the quality of the extras pose in the screenshot? It's not blurry, or looks weirdly resized, it's been already stated in the game page's description that like 95% of all assets are getting touched up and so that here is a good example of how most things will look, all other characters will also be getting that treatment

So far, maybe like uhhhhhh 30% of the entire games assets have been refurbished


Phantoms and Hallucinations

For a really long time there was an idea to separate hallucinations from phantoms visually so they all don't look the same when they aren't the same thing (technically)

Soooooo the process was pretty short and sweet (besides one character which took longer than it should have aaaaa)

I have decided to make phantom taingle and luiginette have hollow eyes (completely dark) and balloon today had the same idea but I struggled A LOT with making it look good, so I re-designed their face with huge help from reedscribblz

here's how the face re-design looks like (trust me I tried anything to make it work with the old face but it just didn't work and looked bad (also yes phantom balloon toad's extras pose is completely re-drawn (more like traced but you get it) which I believe I might touch up a little more later cuz I'm still slightly unhappy with how it looks but as for now it looks like thissss

For those who don't like the new design don't worry, I ain't leaving you behind I'll probably make this optional in settings in some way

FNaS 3 2.0 Content

As you all saw I've been adding lots of bits of content from 2.0 and I'm planning to add as much as I'm allowed

Borders, some ideas, music, oh right, music, don't think I announced that yet-

FNaS 3 2.0 mussiiccccc!! All of the music from FNaS 3 2.0 will be optional in settings to turn on or off, isn't that great?

I'd show the settings menu in form of a screenshot but I didn't even do the settings screen, there's nothing to show about that currently


Custom Night

From the screenshot above you maybe have noticed that the custom night UI looks slightly different, that's because I decided to give it a very small makeover (very little changes) that extra space might come in handy one day

Here's a little preview (challenge ai values not final)

Funny thing I wanted to do is that you can now properly disable salvage sonic instead of him still moving even on 0 ai for some reason, in this game he won't move at all when on 0 ai and will look sad (even on cams) which is a reference to FNaS 3 2.0's funny easter egg when you try to put salvage sonic to X in custom night, funny right? At least to me it is

New salvage sonic poses (again)

There's a few new poses and redraws I did that I wanted to show off (im running out of things to show here )

Camera 2 Redraw

Vent Cam 15 Redraw (more like an edit cuz this isn't a new asset, its a fnas 2 asset thats just edited) again, for like the 3rd time I think

Alternative pose for cam 8, not exactly sure yet what I'll do with it, this was originally never planned to be drawn but I was challenged by someone to see who would draw fnas 3 style better (I won of course hehehehehe) I'll probably make it a special pose that appears if he gets lured to cam 8 through cam 5

This one is used for when salvage sonic gets to your window through the vent cam 16, there is a few variants of this but I'm only showing 1 for now


Repair panel change

the repair panel had a few flaws I didn't really like so I decided to rework error fixing, that is actually recycled from one fnas UCN game I used to work on before that ended

From now on every error will take a different amount of time to be fixed, some will be fixed quickly, some not so fast

Rebooting will be slightly more time consuming but will repair things in real time and cancellable at any time, any error fixed before cancellation will be kept

this is currently in a experimental state right now and might change in some way one day, for now that's all about it

For those who might not like that change, don't worrryyyyyyy you'll be able to change back to the old repair panel in the cheats menu (yes I'm adding a cheats menu similar to fnaf 3)


Minigames

The minigames are planned to be pretty different from OG FNaS 3, taking place in the actual FNaS 3 location rather than in what it appeared to be FNaS 1 in OG (not sure)

not much is done with minigames yet, but I'm planning to have sprites from FNaS 3 2.0 reused for this game's minigames

This is a very heavy work in progress preview but yeah, thats how it looks like for now, mostly everything will be changed in the near future


Small (in-game) new phone call concept

For a really long time now I've been planning to make a new phone call from silver somewhere in the middle of night 2 or 3, the phone call would exist in order to warn the player about salvage sonic's new mechanic being based around the audio lures (the one I talked about in one of the past posts)

Currently there's nothing done about it, but it will definitely happen, just don't know if I'll be able to get the same voice actor for it (TheGameSalmon)

Earlier I said that FNaS 3 2.0 was unreleased which is no longer the case as of today (the day this post was released), I'm too lazy to edit that now so its staying how it is, I've been writing this dev log for way too long to be bothered

Next dev log will be a lot shorter than this one and will be focused on showing gameplay rather than showing new content


That's about it for this dev log, I hope that this made some people more interested in this game than earlier
