Development status


Dear follower,

it’s been some time since the last update of Prisoned and I understand that many of you have been waiting for a long time to play it and then got disappointed that it’s only a demo.

And I am very sorry that I did’t put any updates on. Well the game is still in development and I have still no release date so far. Thats because I really want to deliver the highest quality I possibly can. And as I am working only in my free time on Prisoned it take some time.

Furthermore I got a lot of feedback which also plays a big role in my development progress, because I am changing mechanics and story elements to create a rich and enjoyable experience. And trying out new things always cost a lot of time.

**The bad news:

**The bad news are, there is still no finished version of Prisoned and I don’t know when it will be ready.

**The good news:

**The good news are, I am still working on it. Really hard! And I am aiming for a beta release on christmas.
The beta version will be far more polished then the current alpha but the story will be only playable to a certain point. So it will not spoiler everything.

So whats new in the beta?

More content
The beta will have more content available and along with that a playtime of half an hour. You will have more areas to explore and some puzzles to solve.

More interactivity
One negative point of the current alpha is, that you rarely can interact with your environment. You basically only walking around and reading the text. So I changed some of the design to make it more interactive, so you can interact more with your environment and explore more freely the areas. But please keep in mind, Prisoned is designed as a storytelling game and not a sandbox. So don’t expect something like minecraft.

“Polishness”
So besides crafting the story and level design I spend a lot of time polishing the game. The current alpha is pretty rough, tho. Only one music track, nearly no sound effects and so on. I actually never imagned how much time these tiny bits of work cost. Right now I have around 20 different sound effects for two scenecs. Most of the effects are free sounds, some of them are own created and all of them are edited by me to fit into the game.
Furthermore I am looking for a voice actress, so you don’t need to read all the text :)

Out of boredom and curiosity, I coded Sailor Jupiter's Argentine Backbreaker.

Some time ago, we posted a screenshot of the Mexico level. A curiosity about it is that, like some other scenarios of the game, it was inspired by a real landscape, The Basaltic Prisms of Santa María Regla. It is one of the natural wonders of the country!
